"Working with Avil Enterprises was a great experience! While it is difficult to get through the permitting process, Mike was good at communicating quickly and clearly to keep the project moving. When the time crunch became pressing they stepped up their resources to helps us achieve our opening date. Their fees seemed fair and their estimate was close to the expected amount. "TLDR: slow, expensive, poor workmanship. I am giving them a 2 instead of 1 star just because I like Alan and his crewmen as human beings. I dont think they are necessarily trying to screw people, more just incompetent. I signed up for a time and materials contract with them because my building plan (post frame) was complex and was sure to present some unexpected challenges. $35k later I asked Alan to give me a bid to finish the project because he claimed we were 70-80% done and I was tired of watching it move slower and slower while costs mounted. He came back with a bid of and additional $54k to finish putting the roof on the place. I think this was more of a screw you I am not interested in your project anymore bid than an honest assessment of project costs. I found another honest hard working crew and they finished it for about $15k. It probably would have been even less but they had to spend a day or two fixing stuff that the Masterfield crew had messed up, mostly stuff that was far enough out of level / plumb / square that it prevented moving forward until it was corrected. Another annoying thing was that when Masterfield left, then not only took all the materials I had paid for through them on the and contract (like nails, house wrap, etc.) but the also took all my roof truss hangers and hardware, which was stuff they did not even purchase. I had to pester them for a week to bring me back my roof hardware but they kept everything else. They also mistakenly took my wheelbarrow and left their own, and they left a pile of scaffolding structural pieces that are still in my yard even after I told them multiple times that they forgot these and where to find them. Overall, I wish I dismissed Masterfield sooner but the silver lining is that I found a solid crew to work with on future projects."

"I didn't want to write this review, because he's going to be harder to book (especially knowing how hard it is to find a decent handyman in Reno ). He responded to my phone call & texts in a reasonable amount of time, arrived on the nose, had all the tools required for the job, did an excellent installation in exactly the time alloted, and did not waste unnecessary time chitchating ."
