+ -1 moreI received a quote from Joseph owner of MidTown Home Services about repairing our outdoor side gate, since it had been damaged from the strong winds we were receiving. He gave me an estimate of about $500 total for all parts and labor. Then he went into detail about what he would be replacing and what he would be repairing. So I went ahead and hired him for this project.
Description of Work: Well all he did was replace some wooden poles that had rotten away. Now on the estimate he said he would be using concrete to hold the poles better in place. Well he did not use any concrete. And there were numerous boards that were loose and cracked and could use some replacing. But all he did was remove all the old nails and just replaced them with wooden screws. And then he said these boards can be reused, well anyone with eyes can clearly see that they are all old cracked and starting to rot. I just can't believe he charged me $700 for this project, when I'm clearly going to have to hire someone else to come and replace all these damaged boards that needed replacing. Also I find it very upsetting that Joseph uses the Vemo app which in turn charges him so then he passes that onto his clients. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad if he gave a senior discount. But he does not.

Description of Work: I needed a new floor to be installed in our kitchen. And Joseph suggested that I purchase a luxury vinyl flooring. And he installed it in about 2 1/2 days.

+ 1 moreI went on Angi to see about getting my washing machine fixed. Joseph called me immediately and came out the next day to look at the washer. After looking at the washer ,he stated that he doesn't work on washers . That he paints and works with wood. I needed some siding replaced , overhead enclosed and house painted, so I hired him to paint and replace the bad siding. He never replaced the bad siding, instead he painted over it. He told me he had siding ordered. He didn't come back to do any siding, or to haul away the left over materials.
Description of Work: He gave the house and shed one coat of paint. House and garage total 1000sq.He enclosed the over hang on the front and the back of the house. He put a wider wood trim around the windows and painted the trim. He power washed the house before he painted
