"They did a great job but more than that. Billy was quick to respond, stayed with communication, arrived on time, listened, suggested, and got the job done at a reasonable price. I plan to use them for other projects."

Small jobs welcome

"Great work the painters arrived on time, moved furniture and prepared room for painting. This room has cathedral ceilings and the accent wall we decided to add came out amazing. When the room was finished everything was cleaned up they even checked the room to make sure there were no drips then cleaned the floors before moving the furniture back in place. The room came out beautifully and I forgot to mention the previous owners had not painted in over 15 years but now the house looks great."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"I hired Rodrigo to add some supports to my floor joists running alongside a wall where it was sagging. The floor is sturdier than ever now, which is a huge relief. He was fair with pricing and got it done in a very timely manner. Very quick turnaround from estimate to job completion. Definitely going to reach out again for further projects down the road."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Modern brick houses are really stick-built homes with a brick facade for aesthetic purposes only, so most have framing. With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.

Yes, walls on the top floor can be load-bearing if stacked on the floor’s foundation.

Yes, you can find ceiling joists using simple tools if a stud finder isn't available.

Using a hammer requires patience and a keen ear. Gently tap the ceiling in a grid pattern, listening for sound changes. A hollow sound indicates space between joists, while a solid, dull thud suggests a joist. Mark the location with a pencil and confirm by tapping from different angles.

Alternatively, you can use a nail, but this method will leave small holes. You'll feel increased resistance when the nail hits a joist. Mark the spot and repeat the process every 16 or 24 inches to map the joist locations. This method is considered less reliable than using a stud finder.

Yes, professionals can install new frames, trim, and threshold adjustments for a complete finish.

No rules state how much of a load-bearing wall can be removed. Rather, you need to adequately support any area that is removed. Support should always be added to as much wall area is being removed. Failing to support the area properly will result in structural damage.
