"Jonas is a highly skilled craftsman and artist with tile. We did a thorough remodel of our home 3 years earlier but could not agree on the backsplash design or materials for the kitchen. We have very modern full height cabinets, hickory with a cherry stain, and a busy, crumb-hiding granite, with the normal SS appliances. Tile floors with a sandstone look. We brought home glass and stone samples for years but couldn't find the right look. Finally found a very nice 1/2 inch glass with interspersed stone tile design that we liked and considered using it for the whole under counter area - which is close to 26 lineal feet on the three sides - with 12 electrical and light outlets. Jonas gently said he thought the small, highly reflective glass and stone tiles would detract from the cabinets and granite, which is a "busy" design, and suggested sandstone, which we both liked but couldn't get in the size we wanted. Finally found mid-size subway travertine tiles that accentuated the under counter space and provided a beautiful surround for the large window into the side yard. We used the glass and stone mini-tiles for the area around the stove and hood,  which provides a very dramatic look and sets off that part of the kitchen.  Gorgeous!  We were extremely impressed with his attention to detail and obvious love for his craft. Wish we had known of him when we did our other tile work!! Would recommend without reservation.
I will try to add photos later. Jonas Jensen bids projects fairly and delivers a very high quality product. He probably won't be the low bid, but he will certainly provide outstanding results.

Stone Countertops questions, answered by experts

A countertop contractor is the best person to install your quartz countertop. Because installing quartz countertops can be challenging, it’s important to consult a professional with experience installing quartz slabs to get the job done right. Repairing quartz countertops can be expensive, so it’s important to hire a professional to avoid damage.

Engineered stone doesn’t need sealing because it is non-porous. The manufacturing process creates a natural stain resistant to moisture, which also makes it easy to clean.

Any surface, including a waterfall countertop, can last decades based on a few things. First is the chosen material. For instance, quartz and granite are more durable and long-lasting than marble or concrete. Proper care also plays a key role. Regular cleaning and sealing, if required, will help any counter resist stains and damage over time.

Corian® is a popular countertop alternative to quartz. Created from an acrylic resin and natural minerals, Corian® resembles quartz and offers some similar benefits, but it comes at a cheaper price. Corian® countertops cost an average of $26 to $65 per square foot, which is less than half of what quartz countertops usually cost. The downside is that Corian® isn’t as durable as quartz, particularly regarding its resistance to scratches and high temperatures.

There are three main downsides to quartzite: the cost, the porosity, and the weight. As a natural stone, there’s a level of scarcity that can drive up the price of certain types of quartzite. Even more common varieties are less affordable than synthetic materials like laminate and other natural stones like granite.

You’ll also have to reseal your quartzite countertop annually to combat the natural porosity and reinforce your cabinets to account for the added weight.
