"The previous owner of our property used his French drain installation as a selling point, but shortly after we moved in we found water in the basement after a storm. It turned out that the "French drains" were a trench at the edges of the basement and a sump pump. The drains were not piped to the sump pump. We had Arid install real French drains with pipe to the sump pump well. Thus was in 2005 and we have not had any water in the basement since. My husband and I are beyond thrilled with the results! They are professional, courteous, and fastidious. Half of my garage is underground, as there is a hill in my front yard leading up to the house. The repair involved excavating dirt along the front of my house next to the garage foundation wall down to the drain pipe, repairing cracks and holes, applying waterproofing and more. The interior wall was cleaned and drylock masonry paint was applied. My landscaping on the outside had to be removed and then put back. They did such a good job that you couldn't even tell it had been moved at all. We also had Bob and his crew complete a second job for us. This involved excavating another trench but in the back of the house along 16 feet of the foundation, replacing a drain pipe and waterproofing. They were at our house for three days. "These guys could not be more terrific! They were able to diagnose a problem that no other waterproofing could. American A-1 was here 5 minutes and they knew exactly what our problem was. We didn’t know it but we have iron oxide in our ground which needs to be maintained yearly. Also our french drain hadn’t been dug out deep enough to begin with so our finished basement got completely ruined. It was a very low point in our life but these guys came in, did the DIRTY job with HEAVY lifting and never complained once. They were efficient, knowledgeable and cleaned up to perfection when they were done. They even paid for a cleaning service to come in as dust had gotten just about everywhere. At another point in time our window wells were filling up with water and we didn’t know why. They came the next morning and figured out a drain pipe had been punctured by our underground sprinkler company. They did the work that day and it’s been perfect ever since.
