"If you have a water softener or filtration project, I highly recommend Orbit Energy & Power. I had a very favorable experience with the company . Scott Cullin, the sales tech was very accommodating with scheduling our initial appointment. He was on time, asked about our project scope, performed his water tests and made a recommendation based on the findings. He was not high pressure at all. I advised that I was getting competitive proposals and it would be a few days before I made a decision. Orbit's equipment is the most efficient, seems to be the best quality, and quite frankly had the best warranties. The installation went well. The installer removed old equipment and installed the new softener and filtration kit. He was in and out within the 3 hour time window specified. He answered all the questions I had for him during the installation. Once everything was done and cleaned up, he went through the operation with me, explaining how everything worked and what things to keep an eye on. Very good experience. I will definitely use them again"

"I cannot say enough positive things about Chris and Roger of Purely Water. They are true experts when it comes to water quality and purification. The subject can be quite confusing when getting so many different opinions. These guys know their stuff and are the ultimate when it comes getting clean water. They took the time to discuss things with me at great length even before I was a client. I also must comment on their excellent integrity. I ended up not using their services because they suggested a more cost efficient way to solve my issue. Despite not working with them in the end, this was a very positive experience and I am very grateful to them."

"The consultant came on time, was very professional and was NOT a pushy salesperson like other companies. He took his time and answered all of our questions. After the installation, what a difference our water is! I am so happy we did this!!"

"The whole house water softener system installation was a little tricky due to the layout of the house, but was done within a few hours. The job included an under the sink water purification system. Bob and Tony were prompt and gave a full explanation of what was to be done. They were very easy to work with and it was a neat, professional installation. We are very happy with the results and would definitely recommend them."

"The hot water heater broke that morning so I called for service mid-morning. RupCoe was on site early afternoon to check things out. I should note here, there was a $69 service fee no matter what they do. Additionally, that fee doesn't get applied as a credit towards service.
The technician spends a few minutes looking things over and then goes out to the truck to put together an estimate for me. At this point I'm expecting a bill around $1000 because that was about what my parents spent on a slightly larger hot water heater recently. The technician comes back with his estimate(s). The cheapest one is $1500 + tax + service fee and then 2 more more expensive options for heaters with longer warranties. After recovering myself I sign off on the cheapest one and vow to never ever call them for service again. In any other situation I probably would have called another company but I had to get this heater fixed for my tenant quickly.
Calls are made, eventually another truck arrives with the heater and misc. parts to get the exhaust ductwork completed.  About 3 hours later all the work is completed. It works, its a mostly clean install. They had issues with the drip pan not fitting. In fact, they initially had it installed with the drain plug in the back, I'm glad I caught that and had them fix it.

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

The chemicals in a water softener can wear down the anode rod in the heater and shorten its life span. However, for most people, the benefits of the softener outweigh this potential drawback.

Have a plumber inspect the anode rod annually for damage, as replacing the anode rod is far less expensive than replacing the entire water heater.

No, hard water isn’t dangerous. The added calcium in hard water can contribute to good bone health. However, it can also cause dry skin and hair. If you have dry skin or hair, consider using a water-softening system to help minimize the minerals in your water. Plus, these systems can also add some sodium to your diet.

Yes, a water softener can remove scale deposits. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, after you add a water softener to your home, “gradually the softer water will dissolve limescale scale deposits and remove the problem entirely.” Installing a water softener—or water descaler—will also help prevent new scale deposits from forming.

It depends on the type of surface. For instance, if you’re trying to get rid of hard water deposits on glass, you can spray vinegar onto the surface and wipe it off with a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. However, if the deposits are on granite or natural stone, it’s better to use baking soda and water rather than vinegar or other acidic cleaners.

Softened water prevents scale deposits, reducing appliance wear, leading to energy savings and longer-lasting household fixtures.
