"Highly recommend Sean! He showed up on time, was very professional and repaired 2 leaking walls in my poured concrete foundation. I had tried several times with various products and the water just kept finding its way in. So frustrating! Even had another company come that said I needed the floor cut and a drain installed. They wanted almost $6000! Sean fixed the issue in a few hours. Left the place spotless and the basement is now totally bone dry. Also guarantees his work and offered to return at no charge if the issue returned."

"Michael of National Pro Waterproofing is indeed an expert in the field of waterproofing and is a pleasure to work with. He visited the job site several times to assess the work that needed to be done. He provided a fair quote. Upon the day of the job he joined the team of highly qualified workmen and helped the foreman so they worked together to complete the job with excellent results. They identified several additional items that needed repair and gladly addressed those while on the job. At the conclusion of the job they cleaned everything And all was back to normal, no dirt or leftover materials to be found. I am so glad to have this job done by National Pro Waterproofing is."

"OUTSTANDING! This company is so honest and leads with great integrity that the inspector Tony identified the root cause of where our water was leaking into our basement and said we may not need to install French drains which would have cost us about $4,000. Our previous owner drilled holes into our sidewalk outside of fireplace that leads to our basement for termite treatment. The cement covering holes eroded and water was leaking into the basement. We covered the holes with cement 2 days ago and with this passing rain not one drop of water is in the basement. We've had three other basement waterproofing companies come to her house and no one noticed it except for blue umbrella waterproofing. The owner even took the time to call me to ask how the inspection went. This is the only company I would use in the future."

"This job from start to finish was very professional. I had a problem with
old window wells that on heavy wind and rain would allow water to pool
up in the wells around the basement windows. Ken Peare - system design
specialist was sent out to my house, he understood my concerns and
recommended to replace all the window wells with their sealed system.
Something i never knew existed, its an enclosure with a clear lid that
is attached to the foundation of the house. These new wells completely
changed and updated the look of my house. Also the sealant they used
between them and the foundation is waterproof so any chance of water
getting through them and the new basement windows (which they also
installed)...is slim to none. The new wells have a clear lid which
allows a good amount of light to come in the basement as opposed to the
old metal and weed infested wells...Great Job!!!

Foundation Repair questions, answered by experts

In order to raise your home to make foundation repairs, you'll need to bring in a structural engineer to help you design the project. You'll also need to see if you're eligible for the permits needed, and contact a foundation repair company near you.

Yes, foundation repairs are worth it if you have a significant problem or see signs that could worsen if not dealt with. If your foundation fails, your home can lose up to 20% of its value. Protecting your home from serious structural damage and avoiding more costly repairs later is well worth the money.

Whether you need a permit for foundation repair depends on your location and the scope of the work. Major repairs like foundation stabilization typically require a building permit, while smaller projects such as sealing non-structural cracks or applying waterproofing solutions often do not. It's crucial that your contractor follows all local building codes, as an inspector will review the work to ensure it's up to standard. Failing to obtain the necessary permits can create issues when selling your home and may lead to further damage if the work is not done correctly. Your foundation repair specialist will usually know if a permit is needed and can handle the process for you. You can also contact your local building department or municipal office to confirm the requirements and verify that your contractor has filed the appropriate paperwork.

It’s usually not a big deal if your foundation sinks between 2 and 3 inches into the ground after construction, provided the settlement occurs evenly. This is usually indicative of normal settlement that occurs as the soil under your home adapts to the weight of the structure. If the home sinks more into the ground or the settlement occurs unevenly, leaving portions of your home to sink further down than others, then call a foundation repair specialist to address the issue and avoid additional damage.

Whether your homeowners insurance covers slab leak repairs depends on your specific policy and the cause of the leak. Many policies cover slab leaks resulting from a covered peril, such as a natural disaster, a falling tree, or pipes freezing and bursting within the slab. However, damage caused by invading tree roots, corrosion, or leaks from appliances may not be covered by a standard policy. It's a good idea to also check your home warranty plan for potential coverage if an appliance is the source. Contact your insurance provider for a full explanation of what your policy covers.
