"The front stoop to my house has 6 or 7 brick steps leading up to it and wooden railings on either side. On one side the railing continues for the length of the top of the stoop, an exterior wall is on the other side of the top of the stoop.
The wood railings were rotting in spots - in some places very badly. The components of the original railings were not all pressure treated. Also one side was always loose at the base where it was anchored to the brick.
Hugo's team removed the railings and built and installed new ones.  The new ones are all pressure treated. The new masonry anchors are much more substantial. It is clear that the new railings are stronger in design and should also last longer since they are all pressure treated.
Hugo's team completed the job in a few hours. They removed all of the old pieces and cleaned the stoop. They also returned the potted plants onto the steps were they were prior to construction.
Hugo was pleasant to speak with. I plan on hiring him for other jobs in the near future.

FAQs for tv mount installation projects in Durham, NC

The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.

If your TV antenna is good quality and was installed by a professional, you can expect it to last between 10 and 20 years without needing repair or replacement. This can vary based on your geographic location, weather conditions, and antenna location.

The cost to repair your TV antenna is around $200 for the average homeowner. However, charges could be as low as $60 or as high as $450. Factors such as multidirectional or unidirectional, indoor or outdoor, and amplified or non-amplified all play an essential role in determining the cost of your repair. For example, outdoor antennas cost more on average to repair than indoor ones, much like amplified antennas cost more to repair than unamplified ones.

Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.

Before your TV antenna stops working, there are a few ways to tell it’s starting to break. Some common signs that your antenna needs repair include:

  • A repetitive “no signal” issue

  • A redundant “searching” issue

  • Increased signal issues during a cloudy or rainy day

  • A sudden drop in signal strength, regardless of the weather

If you’re experiencing these problems, you’ll want to ensure that your cables are still in good shape and have not deteriorated. In addition, check to make sure that your cables are firmly in place at the wall outlet. Finally, check the position of your antenna to ensure there are no obstructions in its path. If you’ve checked your antenna thoroughly and are still having these problems, a repair is most likely needed by an antenna technician.
