"Trey's team did a wonderful job AGAIN. This is the third time we have asked them to come help us. They were in and out in a day and did a wonderful job with the installation and the carpet was top quality. They have more skin in the game than Home Depot who farms out the installation to no-name contractors that don't require repeat business. Floors to Go by John Raper definitely puts a huge effort in communication, pricing, product quality, meeting our schedule needs, and installation performance."

"Me and my husband bought our first house recently, and the carpets were in need of some serious TLC. When I told Chip that we were hoping to move in soon, he came right out the next day for an estimate. The day after, he (and his associate Dennis--also highly recommended) stretched nearly all the carpets in the house. We didn't have the money for new carpets, but just having the existing carpet fit like it should makes it feel brand new."

"I've used Triangle Carpet Specialists 3 times over the last month on rental properties that I own.  In each case they showed up on time or a few minutes early.  The carpet steam cleaning was the best I've ever had - you could really feel the steam throughout the house.  When I've had carpet installed the estimate was an exact match to the final cost.  The workers were very fast and were very careful to cleanup and move furniture back into place.  The finish quality was great.  I highly recommend Triangle Carpet Specialists."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

Your room doesn’t need to be completely empty to restretch a carpet, but you’ll need enough space that you can move around furniture to access the wrinkled areas and the wall where you’re reattaching the carpet. A contractor will move your furniture out of the way before they start the job, but you can save money by moving your furniture before they arrive.

When deciding whether to repair or replace your carpet, consider its age, the extent of the damage, and its location. It's often best to replace the entire carpet if the damage is extensive, such as large sections needing replacement, or if it's caused by water, which can lead to mold problems. Similarly, if your carpet is nearing a decade old, replacement is likely the more logical choice. On the other hand, consider repairing your carpet if the damage is localized to one spot, like minor rips or snags, the carpet is still relatively new, or the damage is in a low-traffic area of your home.

Most people realize it is time to replace the padding when the carpet loses springiness or feels thin and unsupportive. Other telltale signs are lumps or dips in the carpet that could look unattractive or cause tripping hazards. Similarly, if your carpet is making a crinkly sound or starting to wear out prematurely, you might need to replace your padding.

Bumps, wrinkles, or detachment often require stretching for smoothness.

Regular vacuuming is essential in homes with animals and children to remove pet hair, dirt, and debris from the carpet's surface. Additionally, prompt cleaning of spills and accidents can prevent stains from setting in. Consider using carpet protectors or area rugs in high-traffic areas to minimize wear and tear on your new carpeting.
