Good day! Five Star Painting - RDU, it the primary painting company for the Town of Morrisville. I chose them first because they are very flexible with scheduling, do premier drywall repair work and final precision painting. They move furniture and return it at the end of the job. I need a one-stop approach to painting for the Town because I don't have time involving multiple companies. This company does 90%+ of the Town's painting.

Five Star Painters management is pleasant to work with until the end when their attitudes and demeanor changes. Five Star Painters came out to give us a quote for house painting and some boards to be replaced. While the manager was there I walked the house with him. I let him know that all the boards on the front right side needed to be replaced due to warping which the manager agreed, along with some more spots on the side, back, and chimney. We were emailed a quote which we assumed had all the work that was discussed during the walk through process but we were wrong. Come day one they told us that the quote didn’t cover enough boards to replace the front of the house. The owner came out and told them that they needed to be replaced and that there would be an additional fee for material and labor. We agreed but didn’t want it to be thousands of dollars over the original quote. Come the last day of the job which was a Friday they left without painting our front and back doors, which were in our original quote. Also when walking the house we noticed a board on the side of the house that looked like it wasn’t cut properly and forced into place causing it to crack, they left it and painted over it. On Saturday I text the manager asking if the job was complete and for the final bill. He replied that he would email it over. Again I asked if the job was completed. He responded that he was with his family and would get back to me on Monday. On Monday I received a text message asking how he could get his money from me and I told him once the job was completed. He claimed that the job was complete. When I said it wasn’t he then passed me on to his supervisor who text me asking for the money. Again I replied once you guys finish the job and that I would appreciate a phone call to discuss everything. He responded that he was on a call for 3 hours and couldn’t talk and to tell him what wasn’t done because the project manager did a final walkthrough and the job was complete. I text him with the items that were missing and wrong and he told me he would have the painters come out Tuesday morning. The painters arrived and told us that they told the manager that the doors were not done but that they would be happy to do them now and fix the side board. At this point the manager came out and never apologized for the missed work. He told us that he never came back by to do the final walkthrough after the job was done on Friday. But yet he demanded payment from us knowing that the painters told him they didn’t paint our doors. What should have been a pleasant experience turned into an unpleasant experience all due to poor management.

"Job started on Tuesday, power washed, prepped, completed full day of wood repair. As owner I arrived the morning of day 2 discussed with them the left front of the house which we still needed to be some siding. He asked about cost to replace all the siding on the left side of the front quoted $1500 labor and materials, they approved . Final charge was $1300 , $500 was for materials On Friday our salesman, thought I did the walk around with the crew, it did not, which was a misunderstanding by our team. They asked us to send the updated invoice, we did he said did not receive, resent. They responded it looked fine but we had not paint 2 doors which we could not because they were not home doors need to be open to paint, and a piece of siding still need repair . We said we would take care of Monday when we did the walk around Monday after the walk around was completed to their satisfaction . When we opened the envelope payment short $800 We called to ask why, he said we did not supply the additional ½ day labor that no wood repair occurred on the first day. I reminded him that when I arrived the morning of the second day all the wood repair on the house was completed other than the few pieced on the front left, and all the siding on the left side of the front to be replaced for the amount they agreed too. His response was that he felt we only took one day for wood repaid not 1 ½ days. He also said that the amount of wood we bought was, even if we supplied invoices not all used on his house which is untrue . I told him we only purchase material for the house we are working on and buy what is needed for each job. He also stated he was very happy with the workmanship but is refusing to pay the agreed invoice amount because of our communication. After all that, with a $800 short payment which they agreed to before we did the additional work and stating they were happy with the work completed they leave this 1 Star review , really? Sad"

Five Star’s painting crew painted our master bedroom walls a beautiful shade of Sherwin-Williams paint called “Wistful Blue.” The ceiling was painted white with all trim semi-gloss white. The paint crew did an excellent job protecting our furniture from paint drips or spatters. We have a chandelier that was untouched by any paint drops. We hired Five Star to remove the popcorn ceiling and paint the ceiling and walls in our entryway. Jeremy came out and gave us an estimate which was reasonable and they were able to schedule us the weekend before Thanksgiving which was exactly what we needed. Danny and his crew did a great job on the ceilings. Would've liked to have a little more attention to detail on the walls, but they came back and did some touch-ups and everything looks really good. Only minor complaint is that the scheduler seemed to think they would be done in one day, but it ended up taking two full days (not counting the touch-ups). Not a huge deal but did throw off some plans. Overall a good experience and would recommend Five Star.

5-Star Painting is my go-to team for painting. In fact, they have completely painted the interior of my home and in some cases have painted rooms a 2nd time. This job was to repaint my office and my son's bedroom as well as patch a hole in a ceiling where honeybees decided to nest. I couldn't ask for a better team that what Robin and Taylor have put together. They have added Jeremy to do quotes and the process is very quick and efficient. The crews they send in are professional, courteous and extremely good at their job. They were in and out in just a few hours. These days, you get what you pay for. With 5-Star Painting, you get more than expected. When painting, it's always better to go with upgrading the paint. Why would anyone get such a great painter and waste the effort on cheap paint? Just do it right the first time and go with 5-Star, you won't be disappointed.
