"My chest freezer broke down and I did not want to buy a new one since I could not afford the same size. I reached out to appliance parts pro and they were confident that what I ordered would fix my problem. $200 in parts later and I now have a broken freezer on my porch and am still paying the loan to this terrible company. They just want you to order parts and try them because they know you can't return them. I hate this company with every fiber of my being and will make sure that anyone that has a broken appliance will not use them. To top it off, their site is so screwed up that it give you an error trying to log back in. I ended up having to create THREE different accounts because every time I went to place a new order, it would not let me login and it would not send a password reset email. DON'T GET RIPPED OFF."

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. "Although the staff are all friendly and responsive, we have had continual problems with our gas furnace every winter since the original installation in 2019 when the temperature drops below 30. The first year, nothing was done since the furnace began to work when the temperature increased. The 2nd year, they said the thermostat was bad and replaced it, charging us for the labor to replace it. I paid this invoice believing the problem was solved. The 3rd year, the technician said that the exhaust ductwork was sloped toward the furnace causing the condensation to back up and shut down the furnace. I was invoiced a significant amount but I declined to pay since it was an installation mistake that should have been corrected earlier. After 4 years of trying to correct the problem, they are now refusing to correct the (continuing) problem and we were again without heat in the morning. I did an internet search to see if anybody else had this problem and found it was a common problem with gas furnaces installed in an attic. All that was required was to insulate the condensate drain outside. I purchased a $4 piece of insulation and installed it myself. We have had no problem since. Seems like a "professional" HVAC company should have known this type of problem and not corrected it earlier. It's sad that a company does not take pride in providing a professional quality service nor correct problems caused by a defective installation."

Yes, you should install a range hood over an electric stove, even if they’re generally better for air quality than their gas counterparts. It’s a common misconception that range hoods are only needed for gas stoves, but electric stoves still create smoke and other fumes, all of which you’ll want to vent out of your kitchen.

Considering ovens can last 15 years (and sometimes more), it is likely a better idea to repair a 10-year-old oven, assuming the repair won’t cost more than 50% of the oven’s value. While frequent or costly repairs may make you think about replacing your appliance, other signs to replace an appliance include unusual noises and high utility bills. But also keep an eye (and nose) out for more dangerous signs, such as a sparking microwave, a smoking oven, or a leaking fridge. Appliances that spark, smoke, smell foul or burnt, or are leaking may mean that there are broken parts, and this brings higher risk of fire, shock, and water damage.

There’s no need to replace a fridge that’s in working order. That said, if your fridge needs repairs and is nearing the end of its expected lifespan, you should probably consider a replacement. Minor repairs can cost less than $100, but problems tend to add up when your fridge is already old. It’s better to get a new appliance than fix something that’s only going to break repeatedly.
