Becker's Appliance RepairDropped off a Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner to have the motorized head repaired. When I returned in two weeks to pick it up, it had not been repaired yet, so they repaired it while I waited.
Bob arrived in a timely manner an did an great job repairing my old Maytag laundry washer. He also suggested replacing the water supply hoses, which, given their age, was something I had been wondering about. Date of repair was December 2018 and total repair cost was $305.
It was repaired in the time frame they gave me. The cost was what I was expecting. I had the option to refuse to have it repaired if it was more than what I was willing to spend on an old machine. It was a good experience.

I brought them in to work on furnace/AC unit/split AC unit servicing garage (based on a promotional price for the first two). It was found my split unit needed a recharge for coolant and I was told that it'd only be 5 lbs of coolant and that this would be priced by the pound (which was reasonable). The bill came and they tacked on a flat charge of $219 for the coolant (this is in addition to the $129 charge to look over the split unit). I felt baited-and-switched. I also contacted them about this, and the answer came down to "This is additional profit for us added onto your bill." Not pleased. At all. Particularly since the coolant in question costs approximately $6 per pound and they only used 5 lbs (one would assume that the $129 charge built in enough profit for labor/licenses/equipment due to the limited time spent working on the split unit. Apparently not). Comfort By Design does excellent work, and they do stand by their work, but just be VERY CAREFUL in finding out what they're going to charge you, particularly if something extra comes up when they're doing a job."
