"Tytann did an excellent job. They gave me the best quote out of 5 different vendors. On the day of removal they were very careful in avoiding damage to my landscape lighting. On the day of install, they made a suggestion about removing my apron as it was damaged and was not properly sloped to deal with drainage. At no extra cost, they removed the apron and paved the area where the apron used to be, while properly sloping it. The driveway looks great thanks to Tytann."

"I called Alan to see if he was willing to provide an estimate. We have a retaining wall behind our house that is approximately 100 feet long by about 2 feet high. It is in between our house and a railroad track that borders a nice park. We had one estimate last week that came in at about $7,000 for the job - and this was from one of the well rated, less expensive Angie's List servicers.  I have been been watching the wall for a couple of years and have been very reluctant to deal with it.

He looked around and said that if he were me he wouldn't replace the retaining wall at all - he'd simply regrade a little bit and slope the area toward the bottom, cover with straw, seed with shade resistant grass, and save myself a lot of money for something that probably didn't need to be a retaining wall in the first place (the previous owners put it in themselves to create a 3 foot X 100 foot garden along the back yard. He then explained where I could get the materials to do it myself.  He would have been willing to put in a bid to build the wall if I wanted, but I assured him that what he described sounded great to me. 

Visually we don't ever see this - neither does anybody else. His advice cost him some business but is very much appreciated. It's what I wanted to hear, but didn't even know to ask anybody about it because I hadn't considered it as an option. He's earned my business in the future. "

They were meticulous with matching my existing garage apron and curb. The driveway sealed great with no porous areas or exposed stone. "My experience with L&R was excellent.  The spring rains left me with rain in my basement.  I was very concerned about the situation but didn't know where to start. I live at the bottom of a hill and need a comprehensive solution.  I spoke to at least 10 different basement waterproofing people and landscapers and arrived at the conclusion that my exterior drainage and landscaping could prevent the issue.  However, very few of these people offered anything other than expensive short-term fixes.  '
Ron at L&R was the only person I spoke with who understood the existing system I had in place and could articulate the reasons it was no longer working and could provide a comprehensive solution to the problem. His knowledge and experience, when compared to all the other people I spoke to, was really obvious.  After discussing the problem and solution with him during a free consultation, I received his estimate and decided to work with L&R. Their pricing was competitive but Ron's know-how was the reason I went with them.
The experience with L&R couldn't have been better. The work was started on time and completed on time.  The total job only took two days.  As I stated above, Ron was a pleasure to deal with prior to the job but also during the job.  He was available to answer my questions and took the time to ask me about anything we may have not discussed previously like whether to keep a tree or move a flower.  This attention to detail and customer service was tremendous.  The crew was courteous and professional. They were friendly and took the time to clean up the work space and the whole general area each day.  The office staff were friendly and excelled in communication. I even had some questions after the project was completed and Ron was on the phone with me quickly and addressing all of my concerns in an extremely fast manner.  
Overall, the completed project looks great and I feel so much better about my drainage situation.  I'm very happy with the service and value provided by L&R and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.  I highly recommend them.

"This was one of the BEST home service experiences I have had, and I've had a lot of them. Professional from start to finish, with some exceptional things worth noting, particularly since I always do thorough research before hiring: - This patio was going to be installed in my classic South Mpls back yard, small & rectangular. There is one large oak tree in the yard, an for 20 years I've been cultivating smaller trees, shrubs and perennials to turn it into an urban oasis. I was concerned about equipment ripping out plants and roots. Twin City Landscape was the ONLY landscaper that does their work by hand, for the same price as landscapers that rely on heavy equipment, to accomplish the same task but with much less care for the space. - Debbie, the owner, came out to talk about the project and prepare the bid. She was the only rep from a company who alerted me to potential drainage problems given the positioning of my garage, and walked me through some options for handling them. - Debbie also was the only rep from a company who encouraged me to meet her at the place where the pavers were stored, so that I could choose style and color after seeing them in reality, rather than from a touched-up photograph. Other reps wanted me to choose style & color from the photos, sometimes on the spot, to make their bid-prep easier. Debbie made sure that I would be happy with the choice by being proactive about how it was made. I appreciated this attention to detail too. - When I visited the paver place with Debbie, I learned you purchase by the pallet, which undoubtedly contains more than the project requires. Because I am constantly working on projects in this yard that require rocks and pavers, I asked if I could keep the unused pavers. Of course the answer was yes, no extra price, and although I didn't specifically request this, the workers stacked them neatly in an easily accessible spot tucked away from public view. Other companies may have done this too, but unlike Debbie, none of them told me at the start that you purchase by pallet, which meant that there would be leftovers. The installation was timely, professional, friendly. The final result is lovely. It happened during the week of the 4th of July and the holiday complicated things. We worked through that and all went well. Extremely happy with the work and the experience, and happy to send other customers this way. Expect that you will be happy too."
