"Critical: Professionalism, Value I called Omega to check out smoke transfer between flues. Al quoted flue top dampers at $900 each and cleanings at $300 each. He said he would need to schedule a day to do the work. Thinking this must be an extensive project, I bought it. Ten days later I finally was called to say they would come that afternoon to do it. After the cleaning they glued dampers to the tops of the flues and were done in about 45 minutes. Al defended his $750/hour labor rate and double cleaning rate, saying it was due to his "high overhead" costs that I didn't understand. I still don't understand. Omega Construction is aptly named, they are the last one you should think of calling. They apparently only maintain their good BBB rating because the BBB doesn't consider "pricing issues" or "buyer's remorse" in their calculations. BBB is basically another way to advertise."

"Everdry did a total basement system for us. Brandon and his crew were amazing at walking through each step in the project, keeping us updated on timelines, and great overall communication. Amazing crew they had. Only reason total experience was 4 stars was the high pressure sales "free inspection". After a thorough walkthrough (which was appreciated), we sat down to a timeshare-esque presentation of their system. Everydry seems to have one big project type, which as someone who hasn't had any previous basement work was needed for our case. After he presented his solution and suggested the total system, he gave us a number that was not itemized or broken down, but just a total projected cost. When we said we'll think about it, the cost came down by 10% if we signed up that day before he left. We again said we'll think about it (even if we had to pay the original estimate). He finally came back with a "final" offer of almost 25% off if we could start on 3 days since a crew was on standby and needed a job. We eventually ended up signing then. Would have been an easy 5* review had he just done the walkthrough and allowed us to get some other opinions or quotes before moving forward with them. That said, the work appears to be fantastic, appreciated the total system, and again the crew, lead by Brandon, was amazing. Left our basement clean and walked us through each new addition to our basement system. Thanks for all your help."

"Dave Pearson, Matt, & Jacy were prompt, friendly, respectful to us and our home, professional, and worked hard all day. They hauled out trash & muck from the crawlspace, leveled it, did mold abatement, installed two new sump pumps, dug new drainage inside and outside, insulated the foundation walls, installed a permanent dehumidifier, and encapsulated the entire crawl space. They cleaned up the mess at the end of each work day without prompt. We enjoyed having this work crew in our home and would request the same crew if further services are needed."

"Troy and his team were so wonderful throughout this entire process! Troy came out over a year ago to quote - he spent nearly 4 hours on my property making sure that he understood exactly what was going on with each of my buildings. He took several pictures and gave a very estimate. I had several other companies come out to provide quotes & they just simply weren't as thorough or kind. Troy continued to follow up and once we were able to budget for the project, he came out and made sure nothing had changed. Throughout the job he took TONS of pictures so I didn't have to go under the building to check it out. They were professional & very respectful of our business operations. "They repaired my basement leak, but left me with another nightmare, when they completed the project, they left me with another nightmare outside problem. My backyard is completely flooded and has flowed into my neighbor's yard. When the job was completed I asked about the continuous water flow and was told give it a few days and you'll be okay. Well I gave it a week and my backyard is submerged under water, I can't go outside to use it, can't cut grass cause it's so soggy. I called for two weeks with no response, only the operator telling me that I was on high priority? Finally I get a call from Bruce and he asked if I could take pictures of my problem, I did and he called back shortly and said that's it was my problem and that they only do basement repairs, and that I need someone to come out and fix that, but I told him I didn't have that problem before he fixed my basement. And that they don't access outside of the home, and couldn't gage what would happen after the repair. He then said from the pictures I probably had hard soil and that might be my problem for the water staying up top, hard to believe for me but that was his answer, wasn't their issue, end of conversation. Well they repaired my basement and transferred it to my backyard, thanks Foundation System of Michigan!"

"The most important thing I can say about Atlantic Coast Waterproofing is meet with all other foundation experts first, then call Gary. Why? INSPECTION 1. He pointed out that my basement floor overlaid the footer at different heights based on where you are in basement. --No other specialist pointed this out, this detail is very important 2. He was able to point out previous homeowners put in "home made" system --No other specialist pointed this out, this detail is very important 3. He was able to answer my questions about exterior of house that might need attention to maximize keeping basement as dry as possible, while working in parallel with interior system 4. Professional, respectful, straight forward PROPOSAL 1. Informative 2. Best warranty in the industry. 3. Cost came in similar to other proposals that would not have been effective solution for my situation INSTALLATION - BASICS 01. Anytime Gary ran into a home specific challenge he was able to overcome and offer different solutions to correct 03. Any silly question I had was happily answered 04. Walked me through progress daily 05. Was able to adapt to inspector asking for a different proposed sump pump solution, this was no problem 06. Was able to re-assure me that removal of old shower was best interest when he found sub-par installation and mold! 07. The work was super clean in basement 08. Trench was a good 14 inches wide, dug to bottom of footer, with 4 inch pipe installed 09. Gary made sure to test each weep hole very carefully and re-drilled any hole with questionable drainage or mortar clogs 09. Final gravel, pipe and cement installation was executed flawlessly 10. Permit inspector raved about the good job Gary and his team had done and he passed inspection with flying colors INSTALLATION - ABOVE AND BEYOND 01. There was questionable broken shower drain pipe, he just fixed it, no problem 02. While preparing area around sump pump Gary went the extra mile to investigate what could be another bad "home made" plumbing solution. Turns out the previous owner did not connect sump pump outlet to main sewer line, leaving a visible gap, and essentially allowing sewer gases to escape! Gary then switched gears, put on his plumber hat, and had multiple solutions to correct problem. There was a nominal cost associated with it, but I was MORE THAN HAPPY to pay for properly fixing a very bad plumbing situation. 03. Gary's crew are also there to get it done right. When his crew arrived one member pointed out that cleanout to main sewer line was not up to code. This was not pressing concern, but once other plumbing problems were uncovered, they brought this up to code at cost of some new PVC pipe. Very nice. 04. Gary's final cleanup surprised me, in a good way. After seeing first hand the unavoidable mess this type of work can cause, Gary humbly said they do their best with final clean up. Well, when we did final inspection, the basement and exterior never looked better. Nice."
