"I recently purchased a home and the inspector recommended I get the foundation inspected. Bobby Whitus inspected my crawl space and he was very professional. He did not find any problems with the foundation (so honest!). He was polite, treated my house with respect, and if I need additional services, I would definitely use this company again."

"They went above and beyond a basic job, were very cooperative at every turn, even leveled out ground around the pipe they installed underground which was not so level before. I highly recommend them, but I did not check other prices for the same job, so can't really speak how price competitive they are. But I would hire them again."

"Tom Elder showed up at the house after getting estimates from two “other” waterproofing services. Tom was very professional, to the point, explained what would be done and also the benefits using his company that included dust mitigation and material disposal. His crews cleaned up each day after a grueling day in the basement. They were very professional and answered all questions professionally when asked."

"Very professional and friendly. Estimator came to the house to review the project gave us a quote. We had 20 feet sidewalk that had settled and was uneven. Got the work scheduled. Concrete leveling crew was here on the scheduled day. They were professional and courteous. They did an exceptional job. Answered all our questions and cleaned up after the job was completed. We will recommend them to our friends and family."

"When working with different individuals, you don't know what you will get. What I got was perfect customer service. Forman Jalen T (JT), Deshawn, Michael C, Dalvin G and Michael B was being outstanding. They took their time to make sure the work was to my level of OCD expectations. They answered all of my questions, even the ones I repeated, and the work that that did for us was 100% quality work. This is a company/crew you can count on."

"The man that came to our house was very nice and we felt as though he was not trying to sell us a basement system, but more-so a piece of mind. Also, he explained exactly where everything would be and how it would all work. Thanks, Roger!"

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Polyjacking can be a permanent solution to sunken concrete if you also address the underlying issue—like poor drainage—at the same time. The polyurethane material itself can last as long as or even outlast the concrete you’re lifting it with. Your sunken concrete issue will likely return if you don’t couple polyjacking with proper drainage to prevent future soil movement and sinking.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.

There is no real alternative to underpinning, although mudjacking and polyjacking are other repair methods that can add support from underneath your foundation. Rather than placing supportive piers under your structure, these involve pumping a material under your slab to lift a sunken section back into its original position. Polyjacking, in particular, is sometimes a suitable solution for stabilization issues under slab foundations, but underpinning is often accepted as the best and most permanent solution.

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.
