"Debbie showed up on time and seemed knowledgable about insulation. However she had a hard time answering my questions because she was overly fixated on price. That's not necessarily a bad thing but it got in the way of me really understanding the answers. When the quote came in it was very resonable but when i emailed with a follow-up question concerning warranties, the lack of record on Angies List (despite being in biz for 100+ yrs) and a sub-contractor she was going to use for an exhaust ventilation, she wouldn't put some of the answers in writing until after I committed to using her company. After reviewing all of the quotes we received we finally decided to take a leap of faith because she seemed knowledgable and the quote was fair. i emailed saying we wanted to move forward and asked if i could i now get the informatoin i requested in writing. Unfortunately it's now been 5 days so we are moving in another direction. I bet the company does quality work but it won't be with us.

"I contacted Express Dry Carpet Cleaning based on the reviews I read on Angie's list. I had gotten quotes from another vendor that came with promotion coupons. The owner Shouki honored the promotion coupons (which was not even his) and agreed to do duct cleaning for a 2 unit system and clean the carpet runner leading up to 2nd floor at a very reasonable price. On the day of work, his office called ahead of time to advise crew's arrival time. Tiran and Keith arrived on time and performed a very thorough job. They were friendly and explained things nicely. I ended up asking them to clean the dryer vent as well, since I was having new washer and dryer installed the next day. About a week later, I noticed that the new dryer was not drying laundry properly. Not knowing the cause, I sent a message to the owner on a Sunday and asked if it is possible that the dryer vent still have something blocking air. Shouki responded right away and informed me that he will send the crew back to my house on Monday. Again Tiran and Keith came on time and did a thorough check of the dryer vent. It was clean. We traced it to the outside exhaust vent that is above the garage on the side of the external wall. They apologized that they could not get up to the roof to clean it and said they will report back to office to proceed with a refund. And the owner later contacted me and did provide a full refund for the dryer vent cleaning. I am very surprised with this gesture and part of that is not their fault. However, through this experience, they kept their promise, showed up on time, treated customer with care and took responsibility for something not entirely their fault. I am very pleased to have found this company, and I have no reservation to recommend them to anyone who has carpet or duct cleaning needs."

"FDC Painting worked with us to ensure that they understood our needs (two in home visits to make sure they had it right). They scheduled us promptly after signing the contract. The team showed up on time and quickly worked through the project. They moved furniture and ensured the floors and furnishings were covered and well protected. Once walls were stripped and repaired, they used quality Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams paints. The house was kept clean and tidy. After the job was completed the owner of FDC followed up to make sure we were happy with his work and to ensure there was nothing else required from him or his team. Results of the job were very good. We would recommend FDC and use them again."

"Person who visited was very polite and noted that what I purchased was likely not something that would meet my expectations.  I wanted an energy audit, how my systems could be improved in home, lighting, heating, insulation and air conditioners.  What I got was a list of things they could work on and the price to do that work.  The work list in no way was considered an energy audit, rather it was a punch list of things I could do based on their visual inspection.  I did not have a comparison of work and benefit/savings calculation.  There was no checklist of inefficiencies and how that translated into energy losses. For example, multiple hi hat lights in house, they spoke about boxing and insulating a few, less than 10, when I have almost 90 in house.  Overall I was disappointed, the tech who came said the offering needed to be better presented prior to start of work."

Each time, Robert and the crew arrived on time.   Once Robert made sure all the furniture was moved and covered to protect it, and the proper paint was on site, he left the crew to do the work.  The crew was very professional and good natured, filling in nail holes and repairing drywall before painting, and then putting everything back in place once finished.   Robert later came back to check the work, and on one occasion, sent one of the crew back to do some minor touch-ups.  I appreciated the willingness of Competitive Painters to work with me on scheduling since removing everything from the apartment was not possible, even though this would have made their job of painting much easier.  Robert also provided suggestions on paint colors, which were spot on.  I would not hesitate to recommend Competitive Painters.

"This is the second time I used Shalom Home Solutions for a painting job, after they did a good job on my rental. This job involves a four bedroom single family house with a finished basement, totaling 5166 sqft. The painting includes all interior surface and baseboards, with minor drywall repair and caulking. Amilcar and his crew did a very good job. They arrived early everyday around 7 a.m. and leave around 4 p.m. The cherry hardwood floors were covered with drop cloth and the railings were covered with plastic sheets. Some elaborate window treatment had to be taken down and put back. The house was cleaned up after the job was done. There was no damage in the process. It was completed on time. Amilcar was very communicative throughout the process, responding to my text message and email quickly. The only minor negative is when he brought in a few newer painters one day and their work was a bit rushed (not taping up the cherry shoe molding). Overall, I'm very happy with the quality of the work."

Company personnel scheduled to do the work on a semi holiday and they arrived on time/when they said they woudl.  They were very attentive to doing a good job - they lined the floor with plastic; they vacuumed up excess insulation).  They even phoned up days after completing the project to inform us that we might be able to take advantage of a tax benefit.  We would definitely recommend this company."

"They started at the scheduled time and proceeded to completion in an efficient and professional manner. Answers and telephone numbers were left for me to call if/should I want to change the configuration of anything done to the walls. More cabinets, hooks, etc. I found them to be an excellent provider. I cannot give any more details as too much time has passed since the work was completed.

"We had a horrendous situation with a basement floor installation that went wrong leaving our house full of fumes, and a week later we discovered our basement was contaminated by asbestos in the process.  When we called Bill and Contractors Unlimited, they were extremely responsive.  Although other companies gave us bids, Bill was able to work his schedule to fit us in weeks sooner than the others.  Although the cost was a bit more, that saved us money because we were displaced and could not even go into our house because of the fumes.  CU set up negative air machines to replace the air, they followed asbestos abatement laws, they cleaned every item that could be salvaged in our house.  They even saved more than we thought which really reduced our overall expense.  Bill and his team were extremely professional, friendly, helpful, and really went out of their way to ease our stress from this situation.  At the end of their process, Bill arranged for a air quality inspection which we happily passed - able to return home.  I would gladly recommend Contractors Unlimited for asbestos abatement.  I just wish we had called them before the floor guys  created such a disaster.  Thank you Bill!

within the hour. I met with Steve Norfolk at the building an hour after that with my maintenance contractor to assess the problem. We determined the problem was a malfunctioning sump pump. Waterproofing, Inc. did not charge for the visit. Their responsiveness, and helpfulness on probably the busiest day of the year was extraordinary.
