"Jim responded promptly to my order placed on Angie's List for the Remote Computer Tune Up & Repair Deal.  He cleaned up the computer remotely, which was running very slowly, and required frequent re-boots.  Computer is running much faster now.  Great service.  Would highly recommend.

"Two employees showed up at my home on time to do an estimate on the few things we needed repaired to complete the sale of our home. The work performed is provided in detail. I was totally shocked at the cost for the repairs on the estimate but we went a head and agreed to having the work performed since we're close to our settlement date. I must say the work performed on everything except the electrical panel was top notch. I say this because the labeling of the electrical panel was completed by writing in Black magic marker what rooms were on each breaker. I was expecting at least to see printed labels used for what we were charged. I/we were expecting to pay $300 - $500 for these few things to be fixed but boy was I am thankful for the work performed but I wouldn't hire this company again only because their prices are outrageous.

"It was an overall great experience!! I called old line glass explaining my dilemma. They came to give me an estimate 2 days later. The best part of all was they were able to do most of the work that same day. I thought they were going to have to order glass or at least the screens, but to my surprise he cut the glass right then and there and made the screens. Very happy would definitely recommend them."

"The visit went well.  I had several minor things that needed repair:  the remotes for the ceiling fans weren't working properly (and no, they didn't need new batteries), I needed pictures hung, one of the bathroom sinks seemed to be clogged and I had a drip from one of the faucets.  There may have been additional items as well.  They were very careful and did a great job.  The clogged sink involved the way it was installed - an item that is used to cap something on the original plumbing was dropped into the drain pipe by mistake so depending on how it turned by the water flow, it could stop up the sink.  He removed that and I haven't had trouble since.  The pictures were hung professionally - he even made suggestions to make the grouping look more interesting!  The problem with the ceiling fan remotes were fixed wihout the need for me to spend additional money (something I like).  The only complaint I have is that he needed a cannister for the faucet in order to fix the leak, and since I was having surgery after they came to my home, we weren't able to connect to fix the faucet, so it's still dripping.  I did use a Angies List deal for this service.

"Good Start Construction (Rosaly Alfaro owner and his assistant Arquimides) did a fantastic job installing a new kitchen, bathroom, and office.  He also built a very custom rustic bookshelving for the office, pavers for the back patio, and repaired my exterior portico, window cornices, painting, trimwork for spiraling staircase, etc.  He did such a great job with the first project (custom wood curtain cornices), I wanted him to do everything in my house including major renovations!  I'm that happy with the prices he gave me and his incredible work ethic.
I'm a very detailed oriented person and have pretty high standards on my interior design and decorating.  I've custom built 2 houses, if that tells how picky I am.  I'm equally discriminating on price and budget.  I found Rosaly very meticulous in his work with a great eye for customization.  He's great with his prices, which would be a challenge for anyone to beat!  He's always on time, cleans up after himself, and the most diligent contractor I've ever worked with.   He was a referral from my well known wall covering hanger.
And as important, Rosaly is such a nice guy, great friendly personality, honest, and very hard working.  He's on my speed dial and I hope he never leaves the area!!

"The window frame collapsed and needed to be replaced. The window also has bars on it and a large air conditioner in it. I called several companies and was told that they don't do just one window. Wheaton said they would do it, and it would cost extra to take the bars off and put them back on and put the air conditioner back in window. The guys arrived around 9AM did an awesome job, window looks great. I have five other windows that will need replacing. After I take care of a couple of more important home repair issues, I'll be calling Wheaton again."

Due to so much activity from Angie's List I am able to take calls but I am booking appointments 3 weeks out. Level5 is a relatively small company that primarily specializes in residential construction. We take great pride in our work and all work is guaranteed for a year. I myself have over 15 yrs. of experience and have a background in architecture, and engineering. This company was originally Dover Construction which specialized in commercial construction and work on military bases. All Angie's members are eligible for a 20% discount. I do use subcontractors on projects that involve extensive electrical and plumbing work

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

The screen on many screen doors is held in place by screen spline. Screen spline is typically a thin vinyl tubing that fits into the groove of the door’s frame and holds the screen in place. To install the spline on a screen door, you’ll need a spline roller—a tool that presses the spline and screen into the door’s narrow groove. Note that old spline can crack and break, so replacing your screens is a good time to replace the spline, too.

Ensures proper fit and function, maximizing insect protection and airflow.

If your door has interchangeable inserts, you’ll likely want to swap the glass out for a screen during the summer months. The process to do so will vary by door, but you’ll follow these general steps: First, use a flathead screwdriver to pop out the retainer strips—the plastic strips running down both long (and sometimes all four) sides of the door. Then gently pull them out by hand. Carefully remove the glass insert from the door and replace it with the screen. Finally, push the plastic retainer strips back into place, working from top to bottom.

Some hardware or specialty window stores in your area may repair damaged screens, but it’s less time-consuming, more convenient, and potentially more affordable to hire a screen repair technician to come to your home to do the work on-site. The screen technician will have the tools and experience to get the work done the same day, and they can inspect other screens while there to help avoid repeat repair costs in the future.

The steps to replace a retractable screen can vary, but these are the general steps: First, remove the screen cover to expose the screen mechanism and remove the clip that holds the screen in place. Next, depress the end of the screen mechanism so it releases from the door frame. Take your new screen and fit one end into the frame. You may need to rotate the mechanism to engage the spring before inserting the other end into the frame. Finally, pull the screen down the length of the door’s opening and lock it in place with the clip.
