Originally recommended by one of our neighbors we selected APX because it offered a fair price and because Alex gave her sage advice to help finalize what we wanted to do. "Fantastic service. This is the second time we've hired R & G Water Systems. Both times we had an issue in the middle of the night and they were able to send someone out first thing in the morning. They replaced our well pump the same day (within a few hours of calling actually). This went as smoothly as the first time we hired them and would definitely continue to use them."

"When I called on Fred and Son Plumbing Monday morning, Fred answered the phone himself. Fortunately,  he working at a job close by, and arrived in less than an hour. Promptness was much appreciated, as the kitchen sink, dishwasher, and washing machine could not be used since the previous Friday. He was very professional and carefully explained to me what he was doing.  Apparently, older galvanized pipes are prone to clogs, because solid material clings and then builds up on the inside of them (sounded sort of like plaque being deposited in human arteries-- my analogy not his). Anyway, newer plastic pipes don't have this problem.  After removing the clog, he recommended that we regularly use a small amount of drain cleansing chemical (didn't recommend any particular brand) for preventive maintenance on the galvanized pipes. I've lived in this house for over 35 years, but learned a lot from Fred about maintaining galvanized pipes. As mentioned above, the blockage was close to thirty feet away from the drain, and several extensions of tubing had to be added to the snaking device to reach it. Also, there had been a tiny leak below the laundry sink, which Fred noticed when running a lot of water to make sure that the drain pipe was cleaned out. He said that the piping under the sink was of poor quality and would need to be replaced eventually (estimated cost of $250), but he suggested a minor fix for now, and we could simply continue to keep a bucket under the pipe (in the laundry room) to catch the intermittent drips. He said he could install the new piping if/when we call him again to deal with some other more urgent plumbing problem. In summary, Fred was polite, tidy, and competent, and I am happy to recommend his company."
