"Initially I had contacted Doug for an estimate on a gas dryer install, but in the end I needed help with a hot water heater that stopped working. Doug came out to look at it that same evening and was able to fix the problem without having to replace the whole thing....saved me big bucks. Thanks"

"Excellent company to work with Very respectful of property with laying floor coverings during replacement of furance Guinn Hamilton the owner was great to deal with answered all questions and provided much more information about the product then any other vendor Rick the installer and his helper were very professional and explained everything we needed to know once the furance was installed They even installed a emergency cutoff switch near the furnace without charging us extra for a safety situation Overall this company made our purchase of the oil furance a pleasurable experience and you should give them a opportunity to provide you with an estimate You won't be disappointed"

"I called Hamilton Plumbing to replace our broken water heater the afternoon of the January blizzard.   I had frantically called several other plumbing companies to address the problem beforehand, but no one was available to fix our water heater that day.  I became increasingly concerned that my children and I were going to be without hot water for days during a snow storm.  And then I reached the wonderful team at Hamilton Plumbing.  They heard our predicament and immediately came to our aid.  Despite the snow quickly accumulating on the streets, they installed a brand new water heater, answered all of our questions, and ensured that everything was taken care of.   I was impressed by their professionalism, overall customer service, and their willingness to go above and beyond to help a family in need.

"I had a difficult time tracking down a responsive, reasonably priced plumber, even through Angies List. Aqua has been fantastic. They were responsive to my calls and questions. I inquired about just replacing my 40 year old boiler which was not working after a dusty mess of a basement demolition (in addition to other questions). They had the opportunity to steer me in that expensive direction, but they instead told me of the challenges the new boilers have, and to periodically have old trusty cleaned and serviced instead. She should be reliable if I do that. Honesty goes a long way with me, as does customer service. This company is a gem. Unfortunately, my house is a hot mess as a result of significant demolition in my basement, so I will be calling again for a different leaky pipe after I leave this review. I'm thankful I now know who to call for my plumbing needs."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

It takes about five to 10 minutes for heat to reach a radiator, then about one hour until the radiator fully heats up a room. The exact duration depends on the size of the room and how far away the radiator is from the boiler heating system. Heating up an entire house could take up to two hours.

A furnace takes in cool air, heats it through the burner and heat exchanger, and sends the air on its way to warm your home. A boiler is a pressurized vessel that produces hot water or steam to heat the home and provide hot water. A boiler may or may not work together with a furnace.

Propane is more cost-efficient than natural gas on a per-unit basis because it produces twice as much heat energy as an equivalent amount of natural gas. But propane is not ideal if you already have a gas line installed. The best choice for your home depends on the efficiency of your appliances and the amount of installation required of your fuel choice.

Warmed or cooled air can escape your home through drafty windows and doors. If you notice any gaps, be sure to caulk and seal them. You can also hire a local pro for an energy audit to get a list of energy-saving recommendations.

Finally, check your insulation. It can settle in over time and become less effective. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that you can save an average of 15% on heating and cooling costs (or 11% of total energy costs) by sealing leaks and making sure attics, crawl spaces, and basements have a nice layer of insulation.

Hydronic and standard electric baseboard heaters differ in how they operate, their cost, and their performance. Standard convection heaters use electric coils to heat the air directly, while hydronic heaters warm a contained liquid like water or oil, which then radiates heat into the room.

In terms of cost and efficiency, hydronic heaters usually have a higher upfront price but are more energy-efficient and cheaper to run over time. This is because the heated liquid retains warmth, allowing the heater to continue providing heat for a while after the thermostat turns it off. In contrast, electric heaters provide heat more quickly but are less efficient.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on your priorities. If you need a room to heat up fast and have a lower initial budget, an electric heater might be suitable. If long-term energy savings are more important and you don't mind a slower heat-up time, a hydronic heater is likely the better option.
