"I was in dire straights. I was out of town and my A/C was about to be stolen. Sean and his team came out the very next day assessed the damage, sent me pictures, explained everything VERY WELL, and installed a security cage over my unit to prevent the thieves from stealing the unit. They saved me thousands. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company. They are very knowledgeable and trustworthy."

"Excellent company to work with Very respectful of property with laying floor coverings during replacement of furance Guinn Hamilton the owner was great to deal with answered all questions and provided much more information about the product then any other vendor Rick the installer and his helper were very professional and explained everything we needed to know once the furance was installed They even installed a emergency cutoff switch near the furnace without charging us extra for a safety situation Overall this company made our purchase of the oil furance a pleasurable experience and you should give them a opportunity to provide you with an estimate You won't be disappointed"

"I had a difficult time tracking down a responsive, reasonably priced plumber, even through Angies List. Aqua has been fantastic. They were responsive to my calls and questions. I inquired about just replacing my 40 year old boiler which was not working after a dusty mess of a basement demolition (in addition to other questions). They had the opportunity to steer me in that expensive direction, but they instead told me of the challenges the new boilers have, and to periodically have old trusty cleaned and serviced instead. She should be reliable if I do that. Honesty goes a long way with me, as does customer service. This company is a gem. Unfortunately, my house is a hot mess as a result of significant demolition in my basement, so I will be calling again for a different leaky pipe after I leave this review. I'm thankful I now know who to call for my plumbing needs."

"I initially called Shaffer Plumbing and a Plumber came out to assess the situation. We were told that our cold water line was leaking and our old water heater needed to be replaced. The Plumber 1st repaired the leak and replaced valve. As we supplied the water heater the Plumber returned a few days later, installed the new water heater, cleaned up beautifully and removed the old water at no additional charge!!"

"After looking at Angie's list, I called BAR appliances to tune up my three HVAC units. Mr. Henry responded and scheduled an appointment quickly. He came at the appointed time. During the inspection, he found that one of the units unrepairable. He recommended to replace it with a new unit. I agreed with his recommendation as the unit was more than 25 years old. Next day he gave me an estimate and the unit comes with 10 years warranty on parts and 5 years on labor.I called few other companies to compare prices and services. I found the prices offered by Mr. Henry was the best. Although I had some doubts about the brand "Goodman", Mr. Henry convinced me that he installed hundreds of units and had no problems. As agreed, he installed the unit within a week. He came back after three days to check if the unit is working properly. So far the unit is working very efficiently. Henry is very prompt, honest, technically skilled, professional and easy to deal with. I highly recommend BAR Appliances for all HVAC jobs."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Most propane boilers last 15 to 20 years with regular maintenance and proper care. The lifespan depends on the quality of the unit, proper installation, and the level of maintenance. Investing in annual service can maximize longevity and efficiency. Routine inspections and timely repairs prevent early breakdown, ensuring your boiler heats your home for years to come.

The best time to buy home heating oil is in the summer when the demand is lowest, as the prices are usually lower. However, waiting until the summer to buy is often unavoidable unless you install a separate storage tank. If you have the space for a second tank, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 for the oil tank replacement or installation, depending on the capacity and location. You could quickly recuperate these costs, though, by stocking up on heating oil in the summer and avoiding deliveries in the winter when prices are highest.

Professionals can recommend efficient layouts or appliances and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Radiators are a popular home heating choice in older homes, but they are becoming less common in new-construction homes. According to a 2022 report by Elements Visual Capitalist, only around 1.3% of new single-family homes have radiators and similar heating systems, such as baseboard heating.

While they may not be as popular as they once were, radiators today come with more energy-efficient features that can make them practical for modern homeowners.

Hydronic and standard electric baseboard heaters differ in how they operate, their cost, and their performance. Standard convection heaters use electric coils to heat the air directly, while hydronic heaters warm a contained liquid like water or oil, which then radiates heat into the room.

In terms of cost and efficiency, hydronic heaters usually have a higher upfront price but are more energy-efficient and cheaper to run over time. This is because the heated liquid retains warmth, allowing the heater to continue providing heat for a while after the thermostat turns it off. In contrast, electric heaters provide heat more quickly but are less efficient.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on your priorities. If you need a room to heat up fast and have a lower initial budget, an electric heater might be suitable. If long-term energy savings are more important and you don't mind a slower heat-up time, a hydronic heater is likely the better option.
