- Independence LandscapeBen, Connor, and the entire Independence Landscape Team are absolute masters at their craft and some of the most professional, responsive individuals I’ve ever worked on a project with. The job included designing/redoing our frontyard bed, installing downspouts, building a 330 square foot backyard patio bordered by a dry creek, installing natural stone steps leading up to the patio, and designing/executing new backyard landscape beds. Our backyard - which is on a slope and not a huge space to begin with - looks out onto a shared driveway. Given that, my wife and I struggled with how to create a sense of privacy in our backyard without having a fence installed. Of all the professionals we met with initially, Ben, our Project Manager and Connor, who did a lot of the design work, had the clearest vision of how to get it done. Both were mindful and in tune with what was important to my wife and I. Both were creative in working within the parameters of our space to deliver what is in my opinion, the very best job that anyone could have done. The second experience was no different from the first. As far as customer service, prompt visits to review the project, several recommendations to improve the results, and many samples to choose the best product for the job, and a detailed spec drawing of the project. Once agreed to, work started in just a few weeks, and the team was outstanding. Several days were spent on the foundation and getting it perfect before completing the rest of the job. Les was at the site all day every day and kept things moving forward. The rest of the team seemed more like a family than a work crew. A couple of changes were made during the construction to make the project better and those incurred no additional cost. The entire project was completed several days early and exactly on budget. The area was thoroughly cleaned up and looked great when they left. We have done several previous home renovation projects (finish basement, kitchen remodel, windows, doors) my only regret is that I did not have Phoenix Home Services on the first job. I would never have used another company nor will I for any future projects (Clint is working up an estimate for our bathroom remodel right now)

"4 years ago, we hired A&L to build a screened in porch in the middle portion of our existing deck, and their work was exceptional. The porch came out fantastic and our experience working with A&L was the best contractor experience we have had. This Fall, we decided the rest of the deck needed to be torn down and replaced, so we only made one phone call- to A&L. Once again, the workmanship was fantastic. Earl, the builder, is a craftsman at the top of his game and is someone who takes great pride in his work. Earl takes no shortcuts at all and will not leave the job until it is built to perfection. Earl told us he would arrive by 8 am every morning, and sure enough, by 7:55, he was on site. He would tell me what he planned to accomplish that day and he would always get the work done. We ended up doubling the size of our deck and we could not be happier with it and we know we are likely to never work with a contractor this good again, they are very rare. Keith Ardinger was a pleasure to work with during the planning stage of the deck and patiently went over all our options with us. If I had one suggestion to make, it would be to get your electrical (lighting, etc.) done during the deck building process, even if it delays the deck building. A&L only builds the decks and porches, but they have contacts to do electrical and patio work if you need them. We waited until after our project was done to go back and do the electrical and it became a bit of a pain. Again, you will not go wrong with A&L, they will build you something you can be very proud of.

"The whole project--from estimation through completion--went really well. We have a rowhouse, and we got fencing for both sides of our rear driveway and a roll-up garage door. They were able to deal with two large trees on either side that the fence had to be custom cut / fitted around and the result looks really good. We had one small issue where the final state of some cement they had to break up on the neighbor's side was making our neighbor unhappy, and when I emailed Gus about it he immediately emailed back and they came back to fix it later and it looks great. There are always going to be small issues like that on a big project, and Gus's responsiveness was outstanding.
