"Radon Abatement services is a reliable dependable superb company. I have had an excellent experience from start to finish. Scheduling was easy and expeditious, service was professionally and very well done. Most importantly, Radon is gone with its in-house level reduced to almost its outside level. John Swett was very helpful and kindly answered all my emails and quickly addressed every concern I had. This project could not have been done better."

Customers say: Quick response

"After my basement test come back with significantly elevated radon, I contacted radon abatement services at the recommendation of a neighbor. A day and a half later, they were on site. While performing the initial walk through, the experienced and thoughtful professionals adapted their plan to utilize my sump pump. This was an effective strategy as it addressed the main source of radon and concealed the system in completely unfinished space. I just received my post mitigation radon results, and the system is working phenomenally. To sum it up, I was blown away by the responsiveness, thoughtfulness, and reasonableness and can't say enough positive things about this company. I don't ever post reviews, but in this circumstance I absolutely had to."

"Mr. Benner has been in business for 16 years and he still has the energy of a new business entrepreneur. He was recommended by the radon level testing company we secured to test our newly built home, which was completed in September 2014. Our levels were in the and quot;7and quot; level, only about 2x the level recommended for active remediation. According to Mr. Benner, he has remediated buildings with levels above 100 in the past. He was very professional, knowledgeable, punctual, flexible and informative. I highly recommend Mr. Benner and his company for your radon remediation projects.
He also provided as part of the remediation cost, a radon level detection kit with pre-paid postage to be sent to an evaluation company, the results of which were to be emailed back to me. Essentially, he provided a test-based assurance that his work met the standards he'd specified.

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

Mitigation reduces radon levels, protecting your health and complying with safety standards.

If high radon levels are detected, steps include sealing entry points, installing a mitigation system, and retesting the air regularly to ensure reduced levels.

Keeping radon from getting into your home is much better than having to get rid of it once it's already indoors. While there may not be a way to fully prevent radon from getting into your home, there are things you can do to reduce the gas's ability to enter.

Sealing foundation cracks and openings can help keep the gas from seeping inside. Improving air flow, such as by opening windows, can also be helpful. If you're building your home from scratch, talk to your contractor about using radon-resistant construction to keep the gas out.

The soil beneath your house is most likely what’s causing an increased level of radon. This is because soil holds radioactivity for a long time and it’s also what most buildings are built on. Another common source of radon is water from a source that hasn’t been through periodic radon tests, such as well water. Over time, the radon from the soil can inhabit other parts of your house like the foundation or plumbing.

Many radon fans carry a five-year manufacturer's warranty. That said, your radon fan should last between five and ten years. Regular inspections will ensure the fan is operating properly. Unusual or exceptional noise coming from the fan or indications on your manometer or system monitor can immediately tell you that something is amiss.
