"Jon from MoldGone easily saved me more than a thousand dollars by providing an expert opinion on proposed mold remediation by another company. His response was very timely, and he actually turned down the opportunity to undertake work, saying that the situation did not warrant remediation by his company. It was very refreshing to have someone advise that their services were actually NOT required in this instance. Should I every have any future questions regarding mold remediation, Jon will definitely be my first call."

"Our cleaner Stephan was very professional, nice and informative. He even installed a special blue light with our system to prevent mold.... the same day. Would definitely recommend. The price went up because we opted to have mold cleaning and light installed. But very needed service. The price started around $240.00."

"Dealing with mold in your home is stressful, but working with K & E was the absolute best decision we could have made. From the minute they walked in, Dan put us completely at ease. They didn't just clear out the mold they took the time to explain the whole process, kept everything impeccably clean, and treated our home with real care. You can tell they actually care about the people they?re helping. I can finally breathe easy in my home again. Highly, highly recommend!""

"This was a really good company and I think they did great work HOWEVER if you are suffering from a respiratory condition called CIRS you will need to hire a specialist. I did not know this at the time. There are very, very few mold remediation companies that are qualified for this specific mold removal process."

Small jobs welcome

"This is not a mold remediation company. When you hire this company, you are simply getting a mold test. Be specific when you explain your problem and what you are looking to get done. The mold technician was in and out in 20 minutes. He took an air sample and one swab, that s it. For the price of $299. Once you get the results of your mold test, they refer you to a company that is in the business of selling mold remediation products. Originally as much as $1600 for mold bombs, sprays and commercial graded air scrubber. I negotiated down to $1195. Then settled on only what I needed. Know what you want, do your homework before buying products you do not need."

"We are a repeat customer of Adam Contracting and will continue to use the company. They have done an excellent job on everything we've hired them to do; this project was no exception. The room looks great! For this project, Adam Contracting redid wainscotting in the room and added a shelf, did wall repair, installed crown molding, painted the walls and trim, and installed a light fixture."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

After mold remediation in Frederick, schedule post-remediation air quality testing within 48 hours to confirm success. Monitor indoor humidity, especially during humid summers, and inspect basements or crawl spaces for moisture. Review all remediation documentation and keep detailed records for insurance. Consider quarterly mold inspections, as Frederick’s older homes and river proximity can make them more susceptible to recurring mold issues.

Helpful?

For mold testing and remediation in Frederick, keep a digital hygrometer for monitoring humidity, a moisture meter for detecting hidden dampness, and a HEPA air purifier for ongoing air quality. Stock up on N95 or P100 masks, disposable gloves, and antimicrobial cleaning solutions. A UV flashlight helps spot hidden mold, while a camera is useful for documenting problem areas, especially in basements or attics.

Helpful?

In Frederick, mold testing typically takes two to four days, including inspection and lab analysis. Remediation for small areas can be completed in one to three days, while larger or whole-house projects may require up to two weeks, especially in older homes. Weather delays, permit processing, and insurance approvals can extend the timeline, particularly during Frederick’s wetter months.

Helpful?

If you notice persistent musty odors, visible mold returning on walls or ceilings, or humidity levels consistently above 60%, previous remediation in Frederick may have been incomplete. Watch for water stains, peeling paint, or condensation on windows, especially after heavy rain. Ongoing allergy symptoms or failed air quality tests are also strong indicators that further mold inspection and remediation are needed.

Helpful?

In Frederick, unexpected costs during mold remediation often include fees for additional mold inspection, HVAC duct cleaning, and repairs to plaster or wood framing common in historic homes. Extended equipment rentals may be needed during rainy seasons. Homeowners also encounter expenses for storing belongings, addressing foundation drainage, or temporary relocation if extensive remediation is required due to local climate conditions.
