"Allen, owner of ARM, was professional, personable, and extremely competent. He planned the project so that I received the most exacting proposal and estimate for any project I have had done. He was required to cut through a support beam and ensured the structural integrity of the roof would not be impacted before starting the install. He took two days to complete the installation of the stairway that was 11 foot high. He included some extra work laying down a plywood platform to walk and stand on. Both days exceeded 8 hours — he worked until the planned work was finished. After completing the installation, he spent time cleaning up the garage ensuring no trash or dirt was left behind. I would hire ARM Construction in a minute for any small or large future construction related projects. I can’t say enough good about Allen and his work."

"Thomas M was an excellent technician and did great work fixing all the basement windows around the house. These windows are difficult to find a replacement but he was able to repair and repaint them. The other technician was Pablo He worked on caulking all the windows around the house and he did some filling work on the garage sliding doors You did a good job, but Pablo left his trash around and didn’t pick up after himself so Thomas M and I did that on the third day. It took three days total, but it was two men for two days and one man for a 3/4 of a day actually. Although I’ll probably get charged for a full day, since it went past noon. The labor portion is the most expensive and a little higher than I initially anticipated. So, I was hoping for a quicker turnaround, but overall quality work was completed. I would highly recommend Thomas M as a technician to do future work. He’s very knowledgeable, friendly and does a great job. I would hire again but include more details in the contract language."

"We chose VKB mainly on its reviews on this website. Overall the experience was very positive. We were pleased to learn that VBK did not charge a fee upfront to design the kitchen. Calvin (kitchen designer) made excellent suggestions to improve our original vision and was responsive to changes to the design. Calvin convinced us to choose wood floor and crown molding, and the type of range hood, and he was right on all counts! Because of the smooth design process with Calvin and reasonable price, we decided to sign on with VBK over other companies. The implementation phase had some bumps: the design drawings that Jason (project manager) and Ismar (crew leader) started with were not the updated version, but thankfully that was quickly rectified. In addition there were some misunderstanding on the scope of the painting area, but Calvin agreed to honor what we had discussed verbally, even though it was not spelled out in the contract. Jason listened and patiently explained the project process, and kept asking to make sure that we were happy with the progress. For example, he agreed to redo the placement of the undercabinet lights. He also accommodated our desire to donate our old cabinets to Habitat for Humanity, and Ismar and his crew carefully took the down the cabinets and stored them in our garage for pickup later in the week. Ismar, Luis, and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job installing and painting everything, and their experience showed in disguising the fact that our walls were not straight and the floor was not even. We were also impressed with the laser tools that they used to guide cabinet and light placements. The crew was careful, meticulous, and respectful, and they cleaned up throughly every day. There were other crews handling the flooring and countertops, who also did top notch work, and all were coordinated like clockwork by Jason. Along the way, we learned some lessons and offer the following advice: if you are particular about the placement of your celling lights, electrical outlets and switches, let the crew know, and they will do their best to accommodate. Also, pay attention to every single detail in the contract; if not specified, there can be a misunderstanding, and a deviation may require a change order and extra expense. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the excellent quality of the work, and even though there was a delay in the backsplash order, the job finished as projected. We definitely recommend VKB, and we love our new kitchen. Jason -- we are happy!"

"We used Willis Builders when we first moved into this house 8 years ago and were extremely satisfied with their work, so we decided to hire them the update our two upstairs bathrooms (along with a couple other minor things around the house). The craftsmanship and efficiency of the project blew me away and I am super happy that I decided to use them again for this project. Naveed and Nelson were fantastic. I was amazed at the long days they spent and how efficient the work was. Naveed came to me with any questions and feedback....and the few small issues with materials were resolved quickly and easily. "We first used Chevy Chase Remodeling for a small bathroom remodel in the summer of 2017. After a positive experience with Steve, we decided to use them for a full house remodel at a new property. The extensive remodel included a two story addition (garage and bedroom), outdoor landscaping, installing a gas fireplace with built in shelving and the complete gut and remodel of the kitchen, basement, four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The workmanship throughout the entire job was exceptional. Their designer David provided innovative solutions that allowed us to open up the main level floor plan and redesign the kitchen layout. Omar is very professional and courteous and knows a lot about construction.  They have great service, they always responded promptly to any requests, and any changes we asked for were made right away.  They went above and beyond to make us happy with the work.  Omar took a lot of time to make sure we were happy with the floor stain and paint colors and did lots of test patches for us. They did extra stuff like install a baby gate at the top of our stairs, and came back to do some touch ups after we moved in.  After we moved in I was also concerned about the type of baseboard heater that was installed in our basement (dangerous opening for children), and Omar came back to install a different one at no charge.  They also ran into some issues and had their work cut out for them moving our upstairs toilet, but he said he would compelete the job he promised at no additional charge, eventhough it turned out to be a lot more work and effort for them than anticipated.  

There were some increases in price due to things we added on, upgrades for a better carpet (we didn't like the builder grade), and we added on extra wiring for speakers.  The subcontractor Juan Carlos knew a lot about electronics and did a great job!  Despite our add-ons and changes they still stayed pretty on-target for the finish date.  And Omar was very clear about what increases in charges would be made and what was included in pricing, and what items we would have to buy ourselves."
