I've hired Omar's company for several years on a variety of projects, from comprehensive bathroom renovations to plaster repair work, and have always been happy with the quality of work, timeliness, and price. Omar is very customer focused and makes sure the work is met with full satisfaction. He is flexible and works with the customer on selecting the right fixtures, tile, cabinets, and other details. Omar and his team led by foreman Juan Carlos have done half a dozen projects around my 120-year old row house in NW DC, and the results are fantastic every time. They built a master closet, which involved moving walls, re-routing ductwork and electrical, and finishing and painting. They also redid my living room, which involved troubleshooting and repairing an old fabric-wire circuit, installing a mounted TV with hidden wiring, and finishing and painting. The jobs were quick and affordable and resulted in top-quality, long-lasting results. I’ll be trusting them to build my new double-decker covered porch scheduled for later this year. I contacted Omar about a job to repair a section of drywall in a kitchen that was damaged by a bathroom leak, and then to paint the entire kitchen ceiling after the repair. After taking a look at some emailed photos of the area, Omar provided a fair estimate - less than the most expensive estimate I got, but more than an estimate from another handyman. Omar was very responsive in providing the estimate within 24 hours, and also was able to start the job within 1-2 days after agreeing on the estimate. On the day, one of Omar's crew members, Benevicio(?), showed up on time, confirmed what needed to be done, and then began covering all of the areas with tape and plastic protection from dust and painting, as well as covering the floors between the front door and the repair area with drop cloths. He did what was needed to repair the sheetrock, and then painted the entire kitchen ceiling with the paint that I provided. He was careful to avoid contact with the walls, since we discussed that I didn't have paint to repaint the walls, only the ceiling. As other reviewers have mentioned, B. took care to protect the areas from dust and paint - covering all the walls, sealing off the open kitchen with a plastic divider, covering the floors, and wearing shoe covers - which I certainly appreciated. And, he was conscientious about clean-up after the job, to try to leave the work site as he found it. The job he did with the drywall repair and painting was also top-notch. I've had a number of sheetrock repairs done in our home, and this was one of the more flawless repairs - it's almost impossible to see the joints between the drywall patch and the original drywall, which is difficult to make happen. I appreciate the attention to detail and skill, so I won't hesitate to call Omar agin.

EXCELLENT! I cannot rave enough about Mr Omar and his worker. The repairman has 15 years of experience in drywall and painting. The job he did was seamless. Fair Price, Good Communication, Timely and punctual ! Work is impeccable . So happy !

They came in a timely manner I was pleased of there work

Omar's did a great job replacing the ceiling on our three-season porch when it began to buckle. They offered an option to patch the damaged part or to replace the whole thing; we went with the latter. It took two days; the ceiling was done the first day, and then they took the second to paint. I was pleased with their work and would happily hire them again.

I am very pleased with the work Omar's General Contracting did on my new shed build and installation. The team was responsive, respectful, worked fast, and showed up when they said they would. They poured concrete footings, built the 8x12 shed from a kit, installed an extra window that I purchased, installed the roof, and painted the exterior. It looks great!

Outstanding as always. We have used Omar’s a number of times over the years and they always do great. They are straightforward, honest people who do amazing work at a reasonable price. I strongly recommend them. In this case, the lights look great and the patchwork on the wall was so thorough you would never know there were several large pieces cut out to facilitate the light installation. Thanks!!

Went very well. The staff arrived in the agreed upon window and completed the work efficiently and in the expected amount of time. Staff wore masks throughout the project and were kind and considerate while I worked at home.

Omar did show up for the initial site visit on time, and said he was available to do the work, told me he was flexible and to just contact him when I needed the work, and had me send an email with the SOW. Then he was completely unreachable, and the office kept saying he was "putting together a proposal". He wasn't reliable, and communication was poor, and it left me scrambling to find a last minute replacement, which luckily worked out well for me as I found a highly professional company. Based on this, I would absolutely not recommend this company. They are also not licensed in DC.

Over the past 10 years we’ve had Omar and his amazing crew come and do multiple projects. We had a less expensive contractor do some projects but the attention to detail was always lacking. We learned the hard way that we needed to pay for Omar’s team to if we wanted work to be done right and look amazing. We really like his crew also.

Omar and his crew (Juan Carlos and Daniel) did a fantastic job and we couldn't be happier - planning, estimate, product selection, delivery schedule and quality were all a great experience.

Omar gave me a competitive quote for the work. It took a little time to schedule the work, but once they did it, the team who did it was very professional and efficient. The quality of the work was excellent and they kept the area where they worked very clean. I was very happy with Omar & his team.

I got in touch with Omar contracting and they set up a meeting to come over to discuss the project on May 6. Omar himself came out (on time) and looked over the property and discussed the project and asked if we had architectural drawings for the project. I told him we did not, but that we were just looking for a rough estimate right now to see if what we wanted was within our budget or did we have to tone down the scope of the construction. The construction involved the adding a bedroom and a bathroom over the garage and some modifications to the existing structure. On May 15, not having heard anything, I emailed the company and got this response from Omar (all the responses are copy and pastes), “Yes, I am working on it. “ On May 22nd I wrote saying we were just looking for a rough estimate and got the following response from one of the people working for Omar, “Yes , Mr Shahid We are getting an idea for the estimate price . We will provide the price as soon I see Mr.Omar . Thank you for contacting us!” On June 6th I then again inquired, and asked that if they were not interested in the project to just let me know and I would move on. After all, they are under no obligation to work for me, but at least let me know they would rather not take on the job. I got the following response” “Good Morning ! Mr. Shahid My apologies Mr. Omar had an inconvenience and right now He is out of the country but He will be back on June 11th and when he get back We will work on it .” It is June 19th now that I’m posting this review. I rarely post bad reviews (perhaps I’ve been lucky) and I understand that Omar is under no obligation to do anything for me. But as a professional contractor I can expect him to give me a somewhat timely response for a fairly straight forward project (adding on top of the garage).

Omar was onsite plenty and the teams he brought in were excellent and got the job done quickly.

Mr. Omar came over to give me an estimate. I described the work, he took notes, and made measurements. He didn't gather very specific information, for example on what doors we wanted for the cabinets. He was a little hard to understand but I thought we communicated ok and our interaction was friendly. When he was finished he began to leave without any mention of when he would provide an estimate. I asked and he said in 4 days. The scope of the work was ballpark $20K so it seems like enough of a job to get someone's interest. Apparently not his. I checked back with him the following week - no estimate had been sent - and got a prompt apology from the company and a statement that they would have an estimate for me soon. Guess what? It's been almost a month and there has been no response. I don't know what's up with this company but in 30 years as a homeowner I haven't run into anyone who didn't follow up with an estimate or explanation. A disappointing experience.
