"We would rate ABC painting beyond a 10 rating if we could! They provided the best quality work and professional customer service! We had our house painted in September 2020 and it looks like a new house! They were very accommodating for last minute additions/changes My husband is very fussy and he was beyond pleased! They used high quality paint and deck stain . Welerson and his crew were courteous, respectful, and hard working. We would highly recommend ABC Painting !"

"K-Rod did a good job painting. When they stained my deck, they dripped stain on my plants and trampled some of them. This is an established garden and I don’t know if the plants will come back. They did not show any care or concern my property and did not even cover the plants before staining."

"We have used Olde England to paint both the interior and exterior of our old Victorian house. They do a terrific job and we would highly recommend them. They are professional, hard working, and keep a clean workspace. They’ve also done several carpentry repairs that were well done."

"I had a fantastic experience! Matt and company were here on time and did a great job! I had no idea my rooms could look so good! They scrape the peeling paint, patched all the holes and imperfections with joint compound, and sanded everything and left the walls even. They covered everything not paint-able with plastic and drop clothes in order to prevent paint splatter and cleaned up really well when done!"

"Perfect. This was not a typical job. Normally painters paint flat surfaces. This job was to paint (stain) 62 6-sided boards installed as a pergola. I tried to do it myself but only did 4 boards before I gave up and called Target Painting. (Another company refused the job.) Gene was great, as well as all the crew. At one point, one of the painters went up on the roof to monitor the progress and inspect the hard-to-reach places. Everything was great, including the cleanup."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, pressure-treated wood can occasionally turn green due to certain preservatives, such as copper-based chemicals, used during the treatment process. These chemicals react with the wood, creating a greenish tint. The good news? It's temporary, and the color will fade over time. Staining or painting can also help hide any unwanted hues.

The best paint for an older deck depends on the material and whether or not your deck already has a coat of paint. Generally, if your deck already has paint on it, you should choose the same type of paint when repainting the deck. For example, if an old deck has oil-based paint on it, stick with oil; if your deck has water-based paint, choose water-based paint.

Staining pressure-treated wood is a recommended practice. While inherently resilient, it's not impervious to moisture and UV exposure. Staining treated wood is feasible and recommended for enhanced protection and longevity. Applying stain and sealant safeguards against degradation, prolonging its life span. These measures shield the wood from environmental threats while augmenting its aesthetic appeal, ensuring your investment endures the test of time.

Various kinds of substances and deck preservatives act as protective coatings for wood to prevent rot, which is caused by water getting into the wood and creating cracks and splits. Stains, paints, and sealants are the three best options to protect your wood, but there are also oils, varnishes, and waxes available. You’ll need to reapply sealant at least once per year, and you should inspect your wood deck regularly to look for signs of damage or general wear and tear.

There’s no single paint that’s the most waterproof. Instead, there are several types of waterproof and water-resistant paints that suit different purposes. Epoxy paint, for instance, is commonly used to provide a waterproof coating to floors and decks. Masonry paint is an excellent choice for exterior walls. Meanwhile, there are waterproof acrylic paints that can be used for interior and exterior walls. It’s more about choosing the best type for what you’re painting instead of the most waterproof paint overall.
