Paul and his team were extremely professional, meticulous, easy to work with, and kind. They arrived early each day, put in long hours, and paid attention to details that even I had not noticed! They went above and beyond to make our house look like a brand new home— from carefully caulking cracks, painting window shutters and the garage and front door columns too. Paul checked in with questions along the way that showed how conscientious he is— from painting an exterior AC unit (an eyesore previously) to the exterior foundational wall color selection and even removing gunk around a basement window— he took his time and the work was thorough and beautiful. We requested that he strip paint from one of the columns holding up our deck to match the other columns and the result is amazing— looks exactly like the others. On top of all this, the team got the job done in great time! Not at all rushed but impressively efficient. I can't recommend Olde English Painting enough. All our neighbors keep saying our house looks so beautiful!

We have used Olde England to paint both the interior and exterior of our old Victorian house. They do a terrific job and we would highly recommend them. They are professional, hard working, and keep a clean workspace. They’ve also done several carpentry repairs that were well done.

We couldn’t have been happier with them! Not only was the paint job outstanding, they were efficient, organized, punctual, considerate, and very friendly. There was a challenge with our house: there’s a dormer surrounded by solar panels, and the other painters who came by to give an estimate all said it was too difficult to get to. But Paul said it could be done, and in fact did it himself, along with many other tasks. And the carpenter, Bruno, is a particular asset to the company.

Paul and his team were absolutely fantastic! They were so courteous and respectful and meticulous in their prep and carpentry work- and we had A LOT of things that needed fixing like rotted windowsills, broken deck stairs, incomplete trim moulding, broken shingles and a crooked garage cupola. They fixed it all! Now my 115 year old house looks so beautiful and I can’t thank Paul and his team enough. They were also so tidy and cleaned up their work areas every afternoon before they left. If you’re considering Olde England Painting just hire them. You will not be disappointed. Last but not least, they were also the most reasonable quote I got and I met with 5 other painters. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

I would hands down recommend this company to ANYONE. They were so professional and reliable. They came every day consistently, communicated professionally, and stuck to the timeline and price given. When there was a bit more rotting trimwork that needed to be replaced than the original quote they checked with us first even though the price increase was very minimal. Olde England Painting is amazing! They were what every home owner dreams of for repairs. I hired them for painting my house (2 story dutch colonial) which sorely needed a lot of work with peeling paint and rotted wood in several places. Their quote was a bit lower than the highest I had but Paul Adkins was so very professional and explained every step and the materials he would use so well that I was convinced he would be a good choice - and he absolutely was. Paul and his crew exceeded my expectations. The job took 7 days and each day they cleaned up in the evening and set up promptly the next morning. The cleaning, priming, wood repairs, painting, trim were all done perfectly. They even found when replacing a board on the porch that behind it was a wooden medallion that had been hidden for decades. After showing me they renovated the whole thing and painted it to look like beautiful brass at no additional charge. Further, after seeing the great job they did on cleaning the house cedar shingles, I asked them to do my wood deck which they did beautifully. Paul suggested a sealant that has made the deck look completely new. In hind sight the cost was the best money I have spent in many years and unquestionably the best work I have ever had done. No delays, exceptionally skillful, and truly professional.

Paul and his team are professionals. They cleaned our house and repainted it better than it has ever been before. Paul explained us what his team would do in advance and had useful suggestions on which paint to use. When he came with his team, everything went as planned. They caulked holes, replaced molded boards, added a beam to support sagging stairs, and painted everything. Their work is meticulous and very well done. They were courteous and always had a nice word when we went out. Our kids often wanted to see what they were doing and they were always very nice to them. Highly recommended!

Paul and his team (Joe and Bruno) painted the exterior of my home, fixed some plastering issues inside the house, rebuilt a significant portion of my porch and also painted inside the home. I can’t recommend them highly enough. I did a ton of research and Paul was fairly priced as not the most expensive but not cheapest. You certainly pay for what you get in this type of work. Paul was professional and earnestly followed up even through the process to win my business. He was on site for the entire job that lasted over a week. Without us asking, they even added crown molding to my porch and fixed issues without asking for extra (I tipped these guys after the work as it was the right thing to do for the quality of work and extra work they performed). The woodwork by Bruno was exceptional as he had to rebuild many areas of wood rot on the porch. Joe is great at plastering and fixed some issues in my home at a reasonable cost before repairing them. They were here early and stayed late, the house came out amazing, and cleaned the site each day. All of them are also great people that have worked together for many years. We miss having these guys around after the project ended. Thanks so much.

The painting was excellent. We are so pleased with the result. There was a lot of attention to fine detail and the color matching was perfect. They cleaned up everything when they were done. The communication throughout the project was also really good. The price was very reasonable for the amount of work that had to be done. It took about 6 to 7 days.

Paul, Bruno and Joe were a pleasure to work with. Everything went smoothly from the first contact for an estimate, which was done very quickly, to the last day of painting. Everything was done on time and within the estimate. Communication was extremely easy. Our house is complicated job as it is an old Victorian with many colors. Although we had decided to keep the general color scheme, one of the former paint colors had been sun bleached to such a point that we decided it couldn't be used again as it made the house multicolored in a bad way depending on how much sun it was exposed to. Paul helped us with a custom color that worked perfectly in it's place and the team were also very patient when we couldn't make up our minds about one of the other colors. Bruno did a fantastic job with the carpentry of some of the boards, gutters and shingles that needed to be replaced. They were professional at all times. The cost was similar to the estimates we obtained from other companies. The house looks terrific and we have received many compliments already. We were so impressed by their work that we will hire them again to paint our home's interior this winter. They have our highest recommendation!

They did an A+ job - truly couldn't have been better. Paul was a pleasure to deal with, as was his crew. The work was very high quality - our large, two-family house with a lot of detail was painted to perfection. We felt that all involved took the care they would have taken with their own homes. Paul Adkins and his crew from Olde England did a fantastic job on my house. I got 4 estimates back in July and he was actually the 2nd highest but he showed me a lot of houses he had done in the area and i spoke with his references so i knew he would do a great job and some of the houses were done more than 5 years ago and they still looked nicely painted. My house was in need of a lot of TLC and Paul and his crew showed up at 7.30am sharp every morning and worked everyday until 4.30pm. He works with his small crew of 4 guys one of which took care of all the carpentry needs on my house, even restoring the columns on the porches that i thought were beyond repair. The are very friendly crew to have around and they clean up really well every day. The finished product looks amazing and i wouldn't hesitate to use their services again. In fact i will be as they are coming back to paint my apartment in the fall.

A+ job in every way!!! Paul and his crew were wonderful to deal with and did a literally perfect job. Easy and quick to get estimate and schedule the job. Excellent communication and responsiveness to e-mailed questions. They showed up on the start date, and appeared like clockwork every day till the job was finished as projected. Our two-family house is not only quite large but also has a lot of detail, and it was all painted with such precision. It was clear that they all took the care they would with their own homes. They went over and above, down to all the finishing touches. Totally professional and courteous, as well as expert. We are now planning to have them come back to do interior painting!

Overall, everything went really well. Paul was easy to communicate with, responsive, and he and his crew were friendly and thorough. We hadn't yet settled on the color we wanted at the time that the crew began prepping the house and Paul was helpful with his suggestions- we ended up choosing one of them and have been happy with it. The job was done quickly and they cleaned up well afterwards.

Paul came to my house to review the work and give me an estimate. In couple days he e-mailed the quote and stated he wasn't booking until July. His price was reasonable and his overall reviews were outstanding so we decided the wait would be worth it. When I realized that some of the work wasn't included, I also wanted shutters and some more pieces painted, Paul updated his price accordingly and was very reasonable. He reached out to me in my surprise to tell us he would be able to fit us in to his schedule the end of May. He came with his small crew of three which all were very professional. Everything was covered and meticulously maintained throughout the process. He started with power washing the house with chemical and finished with two top coats of Ben Moore Paint. He finished the whole house and trim in two days. The house looks Fantastic. We couldn;t be happier with how well it came out. Hopefully, the paint job will look good for years to come. We'd surely recommend Olde English Painting, don't hesitate to use them!

Paul and his crew were great. He was very prompt in meeting to give us an estimate. Although he was not the lowest estimate we received, we chose him based on his great reviews on Angie's List and our pleasant dealings with him in connection with the estimate. He was very thorough during our meeting and was helpful with suggestions and answering questions. We also were sensitive to lead paint precautions given the age of our house, and Paul explained the steps they take to adhere to lead safe regulations and made us feel comfortable about their experience dealing with potential lead paint issues. He was able to schedule our project fairly quickly and was very responsive to questions. His team started on a Monday and were able to complete the job by midday on Friday. They were very respectful of our property and did a great job cleaning up each day. They did a wonderful job with their cleaning, prepping and painting the house. They were very thorough, and we are very happy with the results. We've even received compliments from neighbors already. Paul communicated by phone and email throughout the project about the work and made sure that we were happy throughout. He put swatches of the colors we were considering on the house so we could see how they looked. He also was good about giving recommendations based on his experience. Overall, our experience was great with Paul and his crew, and we expect to use them again for painting projects in the future.

Paul Adkins, one of two Olde England partners, managed the project while also doing considerable prep and painting. He is very experienced and knowledgeable, and was a huge help in our decision-making about colors and details. He kept things moving quickly and smoothly and finished all the work well within estimated budget and on time.

Kudos also to Bruno and Joe, who both also did excellent work. In addition to painting, Bruno also did masterful carpentry work replacing rotted sills, cracked shingles, etc.

All three were a pleasure to work with, very professional, personable, and meticulous from start to finish.

Our 1500 sq ft split level home has original aluminum siding which was starting to look pretty dated. Aside from the color itself being faded and chalky, several areas were beginning to wear thin, exposing the bare aluminum. Though we considered re-siding the house, we decided to save the money since the aluminum itself was in good condition; we opted to look into painting and contacted several contractors. Paul Adkins was one of the few who replied in a timely manner and answered my questions in a way that made it clear he knew what he was doing and would use the appropriate materials for the job-- I have friends with horror stories about painting aluminum and peeling paint six months later. Though we won't know the durability of the job right away, I have no reservations whatsoever about the quality of the work and should a problem arise I wouldn't hesitate to contact Paul, knowing he would make it right.
The estimate was reasonable and in the same ballpark as the others we received, so we decided to go with Olde English and Paul and his team did the job over 2.5 days. Paul was a real pleasure to work with-- he is laid back but professional and patient, answering several emails full of questions before we scheduled the work and continuing to help with color choices and other recommendations during the process. We are really pleased with the finished results. Paul and his team were careful to protect plants and clean up after themselves, kept a tidy work area and were very friendly. 
I would happily use their services again in the future.

I cannot say enough about the awesome job they they did. We own a two-family in Newton that was LONG overdue for an overhaul. The finished product completely blew away any expectations I had. Plus, the process was painless and they were a complete pleasure to deal with.
I took bids from four different painters I found on Angie's List and from one contractor I knew personally. When Paul came, he seemed very knowledgeable and experienced. He described in detail the materials he would use and why. He said he would paint samples on the house ahead of time. Plus, he said he would personally oversee and be part of the crew.  In the end, his bid came in at a very reasonable price in the middle. Despite knowing one of the painters, we went with Olde England.
They started a couple of weeks later. Paul painted samples of different gradients of the color we wanted. We wound up going with one of his suggestions, of course. I had suggested doing something special with the windows and he put up a couple of ways to do those too. 
They started by cleaning it up. Then they did some minor carpentry (even fixing some things that weren't on the quote) and commenced painting. The small details they thought of were impressive... And they did all of this in one week!

Paul and his crew were great.  Their quote was less expensive than the other quote we got and they finished on budget.  Their work was first rate and they were efficient and timely.  Would definitely recommend them.  We are having them come back to do some interior paint jobs this winter.

This rating should be an A+ but it is not available.  Paul Adkins is simply an amazing person.  He is upbeat, loves his work, really cares about his craftsmanship, and this is reflected with his diligent and happy team  with Bruno and the others.  Paul is personable and very available.  He listens to you and addresses your concerns. On his initial visit, he pointed out structural issues that should be done and was very clear about what he did and did  not do.  Paul is all about prep work, as per his mission statement and the final product reflects that. 
Paul and his team arrived to start the project on the day that my husband was having knee surgery. He was not at all phased by it and, in fact, sort of became part of the household. At one point, I saw Paul examining his team's work.  He was fully concentrated and had that critical look on his face trying to find that missed spot or something. I fully trusted him after meeting him but seeing that look, I knew that this job would be impeccably done.  He also went beyond the call of duty regarding several issues.  
The finished product is simply amazing and we absolutely love the color.  It is perfect no matter where we look and we continue to be delighted by finding things that were put right by his team which we did not expect to be done. We are so very, very grateful to you Paul and to your team.

Paul Adkins and his crew of Bruno and Joe accomplished the prep work they promised, scraped, sanded and primed, used the quality Benjamin Moore primer and paint we selected,caulked all the windows, replaced numerous old damaged shingles, turned over the front deck boards, repaired, sanded them, repaired broken down stair railings, and also replaced damaged  rear deck boards, replaced 3 window sills, and screwed back the leaking aluminum gutter, sealing it with silicone. Accomplishing these carpentry projects made a huge difference.
Paul and his crew delivered more than we expected, and we were delighted when they finished the job by washing all the exterior storm windows and doors.
It now looks like a new house. They lived up to their stated mission of "Meticulous Prep Work, and Fine Finish Painting."
