It happens the boiler in question is a Burnham Revolution, notorious for various cryptic failures. We were discussing the inevitable replacement option when he homed in on the primary loop pump motor again and realized it was locked up. It had everyone fooled as it was vibrating as if it was operable, but hot a Hades due to the frozen prop shaft. This gig would probably have summed up @$600 but for the tricky diagnosis and my loquacious tendencies. At least I know who to call when I'm ready for that replacement/expansion."
