Small jobs welcome

"We could not have been happier with the work performed by JB Construction. Joe was always practical, knowledgeable and prompt in his communication via email, phone and in person. His carpentry crew always started exactly on time each morning, and they did excellent work. Joe is licensed and insured in Johnson County, and he handled all inspections seamlessly. We were very satisfied with his roofing and painting subcontractors as well. Overall, we were most impressed by Joe's efficiency in both the planning and construction phase. He very successfully completed a decent-sized project in a short timeline without compromising quality of work and while maintaining fair pricing. We can highly recommend JB Construction."

"The sink had very thick and longtime build-up that was mostly clogging a big section of pipe and not able to be opened with a "snake". Several feet of pipe had to be removed and replaced. Once the occluded piece was removed, Kyle showed me the ends of the pipe after it was removed and why just trying to shift the caked in debris wouldn't work in this case. I appreciated him showing me (including some photos, as I have a crawl space) along with explaining so I had a better understanding. He was considerate in explanations of the work, wearing a mask, punctuality and in cleaning up after."

"Saul and his workers did an excellent job on our gazebo roof. The job was performed efficiently and at a very reasonable price. We’d recommend their service to others and would use them in the future for other projects!"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Aging-in-place universal design features can make your home more comfortable for family members who are older or have disabilities; they can also make your home safer. In addition, adding a universal-design bathroom can boost your home’s overall resale value.

There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.

After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.

When you think about Arts and Crafts-style homes, you probably think of a Craftsman house or a bungalow-style Craftsman. Craftsman is one of the major styles developed during the Arts and Crafts movement, but it checks most boxes. Craftsman houses have low-pitched roofs, exposed rafters, open floor plans, and stunning wood finish.

No, space planning is not only relevant for new spaces. With the help of a professional architect, you can still create a space plan for an existing space.

Adequate storage, workspaces, and energy-efficient systems are key considerations.
