"Mark and Josh, with help from Nick, restored my old 1917 garage. Most contractors I talked with seemed to have no idea what to do, but Mark figured it out. He was responsive and professions. It was a pleasure to work with him. I highly recommend Moonlight Renovations, and I will be hiring them again. One of their characteristics that I valued the most was the responsiveness. Whenever I left a message, they got back to me right away. I always knew what was going on and what the schedule was. They went far beyond my expectations. They did little things, like cleaning out their equipment so I could use the garage on the weekends. I didn't expect that and didn't ask for it, but they did it without my saying anything. I can't go on enough about how happy I am with the results of this project. I'm attaching before and after photographs."

"Mr. Jose Barnica and his team were very personable and considerate to me in the renovation of my bedroom that got destroyed when the ceiling collapsed on July 28, 2025. Jose and his team explained the renovation process from start to finish and worked with my vision of how I wanted my room to look. They were very respectful of my brother and I and would let know when they were leaving for the day. If there was a situation that occurred they would always inform of any changes that would need to be done before administering them. They were considerate and careful with their equipment whenever they had to enter and leave my home. Anytime I had any questions about anything in the room, they would always explain they entire process and that always kept my mind at ease. They were very creative in renovating my bedroom and took all of my idea to heart when remodeling my room. May God Continue to Bless Mr. Jose Barnica's Remodeling Business!!! A+ Sincerely, Ms. Rhonda Gray"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Building designers charge between $2,000 and $50,000, depending on project scope, complexity, and customization.

An architect is usually involved in the process of determining the layout and structural features and requirements of the home itself, taking into account the local codes, climate, and materials needed to make the home structurally sound. Architects may communicate more with contractors and subcontractors throughout the building process. In comparison to architects, interior designers typically focus on the aesthetics of a home interior and possibly exterior, helping the homeowner decide on color schemes, textures, and materials to incorporate into the design.

Custom homes can take an average of 18 months to build, mainly due to the lengthy design process, and most projects take somewhere between 12 and 24 months. When you work with the right custom home builders near you, they can help you map the road ahead and understand what can speed up or delay the timeline. Choosing locally available materials, for example, can speed things up without losing that customized touch.

No, it’s not legal for unlicensed individuals to conduct structural calculations for buildings or building repairs. Not only do licensing requirements prevent DIYers from tackling this project, but mistakes can also be extremely dangerous and put your property and anyone inside or near it at risk of severe injury or even death. You should always hire a licensed and certified local structural engineer to make structural calculations.

Make sure you’re getting the right size to meet your space needs, including enough space both side to side and vertically to accommodate your RV’s features and allow you to safely move it in and out of the garage.

If you’re building an attached and enclosed garage for your RV, you’ll also want to give some thought to whether you’d like to add workspace, water or electricity, or additional storage. If so, you’ll need a garage with larger dimensions.
