It would have been very easy for them to have said it was something more serious, and I know there are companies that do things like this. We used a more 'publicized' company right when we moved here, because we didn't know better, to swap out some faucets and toilets...come to find out, they charged double what Plumbline charges for the same work. At the same time, he alerted me to possible complications that could arise with my very old and corroded drain pipes, of which I was aware. After repairing the clog issue, there was a tiny leak that appeared at the connection of where a remaining segment of old pipe led into the verticle drain pipe. He explained three possible ways to approach that repair and the possible risks of each. We agreed on a preferred approach. The final charge was more than just to open the drain, but made good sense for all the work he put in and seemed very reasonable under the circumstances.
