"I had the pleasure of working with Jordan at Alpha Services for the removal of two trees from my property, and I couldn’t be more impressed! From start to finish, Jordan was professional, efficient, and truly knew his stuff. The job was completed quickly and safely, and he took great care in ensuring everything was cleaned up afterward. The trees were removed without any issues, and the whole process went smoothly. I’ll definitely be using Alpha Services again for any future landscaping care needs. Highly recommend Jordan and his team for anyone looking for reliable, quality service!"

"4 Seasons did an excellent job for me cleaning up yard and flower beds. Removed dead plants and trimmed those that needed it. Removed accumulation of leaves and installed weed Mat. Found matching rock to add to some weed barrier already in place. Was prompt and worked diligently. I would definitely recommend them."

"Thus company called me on a Friday afternoon and was at my house by 10am the next morning. Thus was the only company that was willing to hand pull all the weeds. I did not want weed killers used in my garden. They dud a great job."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Embarking on a kitchen demolition comes with its share of risks to keep in mind. Think of potential encounters with asbestos, sharp objects, and power tools—not to mention the peril of structures wobbling or unexpected plumbing surprises. And, of course, you will be surrounded by dust and debris throughout the process. All of the above makes safety gear necessary, or you can consider hiring a qualified professional.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.

You may see specialty products for sale to remove lead dust, such as D-Lead surface wipes. But you do not need to buy a special cleaner just for lead dust. A regular all-purpose cleaner, like 409 or something similar, is sufficient for cleanup. Just make sure to follow the manufacturer's directions when using it and to dilute with water.

The safest way to remove lead-based paint is by letting a professional take over. For most people, lead paint removal costs an average of $3,400. You should never attempt to dry sand old lead-based paint surfaces by hand. Most professionals use a paint stripper to do the job followed by wet scraping, but if you don’t want to remove lead paint, another option is to paint over it. Only consider this option if the old lead paint finish isn’t flaking or cracked.
