"Stavros was very helpful and patient since we also had contracted with a curbing contractor to install edging around our shrubs and flower beds. We were also working with an irrigation company to install a sprinkler system. We wanted all of this completed before Stavros started the landscaping repair. With the rainy Fall we still do not have the irrigation finished but we went ahead and had Stavros do the landscaping before it was too late in the season for the new grass to grow. I am looking forward to next Spring to see the results of the turf repair. I enjoyed working with Steve. He was most understanding and helpful."

"Excellent experience overall. Workers arrived right on time. Work was done as requested. They planned and executed a fairly complicated takedown of a dead cherry wood tree that had cracked at the base and fallen against our house, without the tree causing any further damage. In addition, not only did they clear major oak tree branches from our second story roof, they also blew the debris off the roof, saving us from having to do that later (at some risk to our safety). All the rest of the trimming in the front and back yards was done to our satisfaction. We did ask that they not take away the wood and trimmed branches, so they didn’t have to deal with that. But they made sure to cut the wood into manageable sizes so that we could transport it to where we needed without too much effort. The guys were very knowledgeable and friendly as well. The cost overall was quite reasonable imo because of the level of complexity involved. They also knew about the health of the trees, not just how to trim them. They helped us identify a carpenter ant issue, and provided corrective care for it. Overall, I would definitely utilize Growing Solutions for any additional tree trimming or health work that we need going forward."

"We have used this service twice now, and have been pleased with their work and professionalism both times. We had one huge dead tree taken down in the back, and two Maples in front trimmed and dead removed. I’m pretty fussy about my plants, landscaping and not having things stepped on or disrupted, and they take the utmost care. BEARCO was recommended to us, and I would happily recommend them. If I need future tree services, they will be my first and only call."

"Williams Tree Service is absolutely excellent. We spoke with Raul about a very large job removing multiple large, decaying trees from our property. He provided a fair quote and they started the job two days later. William, the lead worker, and team showed up with a full staff. He was knowledgeable and professional and the team finished the job in a timely manner - they even overdelivered on some yard cleanup that was not in the scope. When the job was finished, the crew cleaned after themselves and left our property in much better shape than when they arrived. . Highly recommend and would hire again!!!"

"These guys stayed busy cutting trimming, removing and cleaning for the entire time. They left for lunch, came back and finished the job. Excellent job! I recommend Jonathan Quintana for all tree removal and trimming services. I will call him back to do the back yard where I have 5 more trees in the not too distant future."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

No, you cannot throw branches from your neighbor’s tree back into their yard, nor can you discard leaves or other plant matter that originated from their yard back over there if it happens to land in your yard. You are responsible for cleaning up plant matter that made its way into your yard.

Unless it’s dead or dangerous, think twice about cutting down a tree in your yard. They’re good for health, well-being, wildlife, and the environment. Plus, local authorities often have regulations prohibiting the removal of trees, especially protected species or individual trees with historical value.

You can use herbicides to prevent roots from growing without killing the tree itself, however they must be used with caution. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.

There are a few general rules to follow that will help you prune your trees correctly. One of the most important rules is to prune during the correct season for the type of tree you have. Typically, pruning should be during late winter. For younger trees, you should not remove more than a ⅓ of the tree's crown when pruning. Also, remember to remove dead and diseased branches first, then proceed with pruning the rest of the tree.
