We really enjoy working with the arborist, Loren White. He has been treating a couple of trees on our property for a few years. He is honest and very informative about whatever you would like to know regarding trees, pruning, longevity, care, etc. We recently reviewed the health of our trees and if pruning would be valuable. He broke down the needs/recommendations into multiple tasks and we selected some of them. We hired him to prune 3 trees. They look impeccable and we know he is an expert at the rationale behind his pruning and care. He came when he said he would, cleaned up, and followed up with us to see if we were content. We look forward to working with him on future projects. He is the go-to source for tree knowledge and care.

After a week or two of our acceptance, he sent an email declining to work with us, saying we were too demanding and didn't trust him. This, of course, also meant he kept his consulting fee.

I didn’t find him on Angie's List; I found him through a friend of mine. He did a wonderful job. I was extremely happy with him. I've already recommended him to other people. The only thing is that he prefers to deal via text messaging instead of phone calls, so we are better off texting him, and then get good responses that way. He is extremely informative. He really knows his stuff. Some people have their shrubs really manicured. He is more of a naturalist as opposed to sculpting them certain ways that they are not supposed to be sculpted; that's what he likes to do.

I called Loren primarily because the spruce trees on my small lot had outgrown the space and needed trimming and shaping. Loren also trimmed back excess lateral branches on my large maple tree and dead lower brances on an oak tree in the front yard. The result is a much more open and airy look for the yard with the trees retaining their natural, beautiful shapes. Loren's crew did not trim enough the first time they came, so Loren came back with them and personally supervised so I got the result we both wanted.

Loren White, Owner of Active Arborist - Scientific Tree Care and Landscaping was called in the morning of May 15th, was able to give an estimate over the phone, arrived by 10 a.m. and was done before 10:45 a.m. He removed, cleaned up and hauled away a large maple tree which had split in half from storm damage. On site, he was able to offer a quote for removing the stump, and suggested replacement tree of higher quality and resilience with a 1 year replacement guarantee, delivery and planting included for $400. We accepted his offer and called "before you dig" to schedule the location of utilities, all before Noon.

This company was recommended to me by another company. He is a registered arborist and he was knowledgeable and gave me some useful advice. He can be difficult to deal with. Loren White did a thorough clean up. His only fault is that he is not timely and doesn't let you know where he is. He divides the work into tasks and expects to be paid after each task is done.

"I liked this member very much. When we first met there were many issues we needed to deal with so I divided the job into tasks and listed them by priority and to organize our thoughts and expectations. When there is much rain in the forecast it is hard to give exact times especially when tree climbing is involved wet trees can be dangerous. I don't want to be paid till I am done with an agreed upon task. Some jobs may take weeks or months to complete so I need cash flow just like anybody else to cover payroll supplies etc. So I divide the job into phases if it is a large job. So if my only fault is the timing issue please understand wet trees are dangerous."

Very bad experience. If I had to do again, I would have used 2nd lowest bidder - All Points Tree Service. All Points has done work before and I have been well satisfied. Used heavy bucket truck. Earlier work by providers climbed trees without truck. Truck left many dents in lawn. Provider filled with dirt and seeded. Since it was November, we doubt grass will grow next spring. Also removed 8 low voltage lights to do work. Only 7 would light afterward. Find other providers.

"The key is six seventy five foot trees on a quarter of an acre lot. Two of the trees were less than ten feet from the house and hung over the roof. The job was done expertly by my associates and myself. The state champion tree climber worked with us at the time. We roped and pieced the trees down without any damage to the house and gutters. The only damage was a small branch on a small shrub. The logs were so huge we had to have skid steers on site to remove them in a timely manner. What minimal yard damage there was we repaired bringing in topsoil and grass seed. Bill ensign and myself talked face to face when he paid me and said everything was good. You can do a small tree job and go in and out with no sign of being there. You cannot do a job of this magnitude and not do minimal yard damage unless you extract them with a crane which would have doubled the cost. A little dirt and grass seed is much cheaper than a crane. I informed them that some damage would occur. We repaired the damage so it should be a moot point. He told me he was happy and he paid me."

EACH TIME I CONTACTED HIM, HE PROMPTLY RETURNED MY CALL TO SCHEDULE DELIVERY AT A TIME CONVENIENT TO ME. DUE TO THE EXCELLENT SERVICE I HAVE RECEIVED, I WILL ALSO USE ACTIVE ARBORIST FOR ANY FUTURE TREE CARE, TREE TRIMMING OR LANDSCAPING NEEDS, AS HE AS HAS PROVEN HIMSELF TO BE DEPENDABLE, REASONABLY PRICED AND COMMITTED TO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

I WAS INITIALLY SO PLEASED WITH AAS WORK, I GAVE THEIR NAME TO TWO OTHERS. SINCE THEN, I HAVE TRIED TO GET THEM BACK TO FINISH SEVERAL PROJECTS THEY QUOTED AT THEIR FIRST VISIT. FIRST THEY DID NOT RETURN 5+ PHONE CALLS. THEN I FINALLY REACHED THEM, AND THEY HAVE STOOD ME UP FOR TWO APPOINTMENTS, WITHOUT CALLING TO LET ME KNOW THEY WERE UNABLE TO CALL. LORENS WORK WAS GOOD, AND HIS PRICES WERE GOOD, BUT HE IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL, INCONSIDERATE AND IRRESPONSIBLE, I WOULD NEVER, EVER HIRE HIM. IN FACT, I''M CALLING THE 2 PEOPLE I GAVE HIS NAME TO, TO WARN THEM NOT TO HIRE HIM.
