"Real Seal did a great job. The estimator visited and walked me through everything, took his time to look for potential causes of a our problem, questioned up extensively about when we had problems and ended up suggesting that we start small (and inexpensive) to see if fixing a crack would solve problems. Other estimators with other companies went straight to really expensive drain tile systems without looking for other possible solutions. The work was scheduled promptly and they did a great job. They called back and checked on how everything was working 24 hours after the install, and scheduled a second visit to make sure everything was working well and that I was happy with the result. I would hire Real Seal again and highly recommend them."

Customers say: Quick response

"Tom and his crew came in on 8/22/2011 and started in the rear where I was having an enclosed porch built.  They removed the existing concrete, put in the forms and poured the new concrete.  Then Tom and his crew returned on 10/24/2011, when I finally had stairs in the rear of the house, to finish the job in front and on the side of the house.  Tom and his crew were very careful not to damage anything, and there were times when they were working very close to glass and other easily damaged items.  Tom is a great problem solver, but always wants the customer to make all the final decisions.   He wants to make sure the customer is happy with the final product.

Tom and his crew are very polite and leave the jobsite clean when the job is done.  They are a great group of guys.

I've run out of sidewalk to replace, but I would recommend Tom's Construction to anyone and everyone.  If I ever decide to add more concrete to my property, you better believe I'll be calling on Tom."

"It went extremely well. Being female, many contractors gave me obscenely high quotes and didn't detail out prices (which I requested). Working with John at Best Windows was such a pleasure. He listened to my needs, was candid, honest, and detailed out pricing. Also, he provides the highest quality service for the best price. His team (pleasant & professional) Installed 14 windows. I expected minor issues. And John/team were quick to respond and fixed them immediately. I highly, highly recommend Best Windows."

"Great Company. Fast Efficiant work. Shawn the Window Technician was great, and Devan who was helping him install and we learned that he was actually a Production Manager. Both were great. The completed all of our windows. 7 standard, and a picture window in less than two days. Great company. Great customer service. Shawn,Devan, and Lauren were all amazing."

"We had to replace 3 windows and a huge patio door. The replacements were smooth and we love how easy they are to open/close. We can already feel the difference with our new patio door, and have a nice cozy family room now! Russ was incredibly helpful and accommodating with our timelines. The staff has always been friendly and quick to respond to us. We definitely recommend Chicago Window Guys!"

"The windows were installed first and the crew installing them was good for the most part. They did leave the windows full of glue and I spent several hours cleaning the windows.      The quality of the windows installed was a problem however.  4 windows had marks on them that may have been from installation or from shipping it was hard to tell.  One window had a bubble in the glass and the other pane in that double slider window was missing the rollers on the bottom of the pane. Two windows had screens with holes in them and bent/damaged center bars. One window had to be adjusted as it would not open correctly. Finally a window had to have the locking hardware repositioned as it was interfering with the closing of the window and rubbing against the window.    All these defects stalled the start of the siding portion of this project as I insisted on having the windows corrected before proceeding forward with the project.  I will say that they did respond in a timely manner and all the problems were fixed to my satisfaction.    The siding project proceeded quickly and only took four days to complete.  The siding looks great however there were several issues with the electrical work involved in the project.        The light by the front door of the house was wired incorrectly and bypassed the switch it had been connected to.  This light was also improperly grounded.  The electric recepticle by the front door had only one screw holding it in place. The other screw was too short and left floating in the recepticle.  Most serious of all was the improper installation of the doorbell button on the front door after the frame was wrapped in aluminum trim. The contacts on the back of the doorbell button were not insultated before it was reinstalled causing it to short out constantly engaging the doorbell.  This caused damage to the doorbell and to the button.    Finally the house numbers were installed badly with a big gap between the first two digits and the last two digits of my house number.  I corrected the wiring and doorbell issues myself as I wanted to make sure they were done correctly.  The company corrected the grounding and house number issues.
The company did correct the numerous issues with this project and that is why I did not rate them lower on professionalism.  I was disappointed in the level of quality I recieved in the windows as they should have been inspected before they were installed in my house.  The electrical work was bad and any electrical work done by this company should be inspected thoroughly.  These two things are why the quality was rated as low as it was.

Inspection revealed caulking issues and buckling of the siding.  This has been promptly corrected.
Will update if further issues crop up."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Yes, many professionals provide custom-cut glass replacements for enclosures that require precise sizing.

In terms of initial material and installation, glass stair railings are costlier than railings made from materials like wood, metal, or cable. Whether they are worth the investment often comes down to personal preference. Glass railings can offer a high return on investment, both in monetary value when it's time to sell and in the bold styling and functionality they add to a home. They provide a high level of safety, see-through functionality, and a unique appearance that other materials cannot replicate. From a maintenance perspective, glass railings require little to stay in working order but do need frequent cleaning to look their best.

DIY is possible for small mirrors. Professional installation ensures secure mounting for large or heavy mirrors.

You can still see vaguely into some types of glass block windows at night. Although there won’t be clear definitions, passersby may still see shapes, shadows, and movement through the glass. If you want complete privacy, consider installing diamond glass block windows rather than the typical clear or wavy glass blocks.

Yes, WD-40 can remove stickers from glass thanks to its chemical properties that can break down adhesives. Be sure to wear protective gloves when handling WD-40. Spray the window or glass item, and let it sit for 10 minutes before scraping it with a plastic scraper or credit card.
