"Real Seal did a great job. The estimator visited and walked me through everything, took his time to look for potential causes of a our problem, questioned up extensively about when we had problems and ended up suggesting that we start small (and inexpensive) to see if fixing a crack would solve problems. Other estimators with other companies went straight to really expensive drain tile systems without looking for other possible solutions. The work was scheduled promptly and they did a great job. They called back and checked on how everything was working 24 hours after the install, and scheduled a second visit to make sure everything was working well and that I was happy with the result. I would hire Real Seal again and highly recommend them."

"We recently installed low iron stock glass doors from Great Glass, and I?m really impressed with both the look and quality. The low iron glass makes a noticeable difference?it?s crystal clear with no green tint. It gives the space a clean, high-end look that standard glass just doesn?t match. Even though these are stock doors, the build quality feels premium. The glass is thick, the edges are polished, and everything feels sturdy and secure. Great Glass delivered exactly what we needed?clear, durable, and great-looking doors without any hassle."

"My wife and I found Best Windows due to their positive online reviews. Upon talking with John who is the owner, we found out he installed Kensington HPP products. I started researching the products and really liked what I saw from Kensington HPP. I decided on getting 2 sliding patio doors with heat mirror glass. John also went above and beyond to let my wife and I visit a home which had a similar slider installed so I could compare the product to others I had seen in person. This sealed the deal for us as the quality is outstanding and we went with Best Windows. The pricing for the doors were very competitive especially when you consider the warranty from both the manufacturer and for the the install. Communication was excellent and the whole process went smoothly. We did hit a couple snags but John has stepped up immediately and the new parts have been ordered. If anything changes negatively, I will update this review. So far we are happy we chose this company to do our doors and when we end up replacing windows next year, John will be my first call. Thank you for everything!"

"We had to replace 3 windows and a huge patio door. The replacements were smooth and we love how easy they are to open/close. We can already feel the difference with our new patio door, and have a nice cozy family room now! Russ was incredibly helpful and accommodating with our timelines. The staff has always been friendly and quick to respond to us. We definitely recommend Chicago Window Guys!"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Typically within a few hours, depending on the number and size of windows.

Standard mirrors come in many different shapes, sizes, and thicknesses, so you can often find a great fit for your space without adding customizations. Custom mirrors are ideal if your space has very specific constraints. For instance, you may need a much longer or wider mirror than you can find in a standard mirror. You might also want a custom mirror if you have particular styling preferences, such as a frame with a specific finish or a unique edge.

To tell if a window is single or double-pane, focus on the edge. Double-pane windows have two glass layers separated by a spacer, which you can usually see around the edges. For single-pane windows, it’s just one sheet of glass. Another easy trick: shine a light at the window—single-pane glass reflects once, while double-pane glass reflects twice. Lastly, if you feel both sides of the glass on a cold day, double-paned windows will feel warmer because of the insulating gap between the panes.

The cost to remove a mirrored wall from your home ranges between $100 and $3,300, though the average price is only $500. You can save money by doing it yourself, but make sure you have safety equipment such as goggles and gloves, as well as the proper tools (drywall knife, wire saw, and a plastic sheet or tarp to cover the floor).

All of the things you use to help you get clean can leave your shower door looking dirty. Water can leave mineral deposits as well as unsightly spots when drops of water dry on the glass. Soap and shampoo can cause build-up and residue that leaves a layer of soap scum in your shower, which then attracts dirt. Mold and mildew can also contribute to dirty shower doors; these fast-growing organisms thrive in areas with poor air circulation, damp conditions, and residue from things like soap and shampoo.
