"2/14/26 Nic Trees Fidel's service definitely deserves 5 stars! He climbed up the tree to cut down and remove a huge tree branch that was blown and fallen onto our roof. He worked very skillfully and carefully to section the branch and lowered the trunk pieces onto the ground away from our house. He is very responsive to our call for service, came to price out the job the next day, and had the job done two days later. I highly recommend his service!!!!!"

"I can't even begin to express how wonderful it was to deal with Fernandez Tree Service. "ALL SERVICE CALLS exceeded our expectations & provided excellent & prompt work at our home. From the timely, prompt & fair estimate to setting an appointment within 2 days, we were pleased with their labor. The team arrived on Thursday early & completed the work of clearing our trees & overgrowth within 4 hours. They also hauled away the debris. On grafted trees, tree suckers will grow from the root stock, not the branches grafted onto it. Tree-climbing varieties live primarily in western states while low-growing poison oak bushes occupy the eastern states. Treat poison oak like poison ivy to get rid of it permanently.

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness. Usually, you’ll have to just wait and see—if the drought occurs in wintertime, it’s possible that your tree will recover during the gentler springtime.

We recommend removing the stump, and grinding is a popular way to do it. You can also dig out small stumps or stumps that have fully decayed instead of grinding them. However, don’t try using acids or fire for killing a tree stump, which is a fire hazard and illegal in many areas.

Leaving the stump alone invites eventual problems, including attracting termites, mold, and fungi.

It is possible to burn out a tree stump if it is dried out and in an area of your property with a large buffer. Drill holes in the stump and dig around the base so it burns more easily. Then, build a small campfire on top using kindling and firewood. You’ll need enough to keep the fire going for many hours to completely burn out the stump, especially if it’s large. 

Monitor the fire closely to ensure it doesn’t spread, and have a hose on hand if it starts to get out of control. When the fire is out, break apart the burned stump and dig out what’s left of it.
