"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"Needed most of the large/heavy furniture moved about 8 miles to our new home. We moved most small items, hundreds of boxes, lamps chairs... anything that could fit in an SUV ourselves prior to the move day. Had 2 trucks and 5 men. All professional and careful. Lots of wraps and plastic covering to protect items as needed. But the price ended up being $1K more than the quote, The men really milked the job to drag it on timewise to add cost. Examples: - Don't need to wrap each individual sofa cushion in plastic to move a sofa and protect it; - Completely disassembled various furniture down to the screw and individual piece...and had to put it together again at new house...not necessary to get through doorways or to protect it to move. Thank goodness we moved most small things over 2 weeks or it would've been $1K more! (Plus guys want 15% tip). Most people don't move that much themselves, so while they did a good job....it was overly priced and milked."

Small jobs welcome

"The movers were on time and courteous. They were forthcoming with the moving process. They were very helpful with quickly getting my possessions from one point to another. Reggie and Lisa were great guides and answered all my questions. Mike and his crew were amazing. Very quick and careful. I have already recommended People Movers to several people. It was our second move with this company! Thanks for making a stressful situation easier."

"The moving crews on both ends of the trip were prompt, efficient, and courteous. This was a cross-country move, and it would have required several trips if we had rented a truck and moved ourselves, and the cost would have been almost as much. We were pleasantly surprised at the end of the move when the final price was significantly less than the estimate."

Moving questions, answered by experts

If you’re moving other large items that require professional help, you should consider having movers assist you with those as well—especially if they can fit in the same moving truck together. Consider bundling the move with large items like a piano, safe, or large pieces of furniture.

You should consider hiring professional movers for moves that seem too daunting, dangerous, or involve large, heavy objects. The larger your home and the longer the distance, the more likely you are to need professional help. A moving service can take the hardest tasks off your plate and reduce the risk of personal injury. However, if you are only moving a few light items, you can save money by moving on your own and renting a truck. Keep in mind that a DIY move requires significant planning and time. A hybrid option is also available, where you hire movers just to lift and transport heavy items to your vehicle.

To treat office moving costs as capital expenses, which means recording them as assets, they must meet certain rules: they need to be essential for the business to keep running, directly related to the move, reasonable, and documented properly with invoices and contracts. These costs can include packing, transportation, and setting up the new office. Once these expenses are capitalized, they're treated like assets on the books and gradually accounted for over time through depreciation or amortization.

To prepare for moving a piano, start by documenting its current condition with photos in case of any damage during the move. Secure the piano's lid and wrap the instrument, including its keys and pedals, with bubble wrap and moving blankets for protection. Note that if you have hired professional piano movers, they may handle this step for you.

Next, prepare the space. Measure any tight spaces or doorways to ensure the piano will fit through. Clear a wide path from the piano's location to the exterior door, removing any furniture or obstacles. It is also helpful to prop open doors to make the exit easier.

On moving day, ensure the moving truck can park as close to the exit as possible. For safety, keep children and pets away from the moving area to prevent accidents or distractions.

Professionals can provide comprehensive planning, logistical support, packing services, and clear communication to minimize moving stress. Their experience allows for efficient handling of belongings, ensuring a seamless and organized transition to a new location.
