Midwest Tuckpointing Pros LLCFrom estimate to repair excellent service and satisfaction. It was awesome our on-site inspection was same day as our call and we received our estimate next day. And was even available to answer our questions before and during repairs. We had a tree fall on our house that caused fractures down our chimney, other companies we had come out didn’t find the underlying damage- they not only found our structure damage but fixed us up! Very professional, available to answer questions and ensures satisfaction.- Rick G.

Wall Landscape Services LLCTom and his crew installed a retaining wall last September and did a great job. We had him back this spring to do some more extensive work. Two huge concrete porches were removed from the front of the house and replaced with beautiful stone ones. An existing concrete walkway was removed and replaced with pavers to match the porches and wall. In the rear of the house Tom installed an new patio and connecting walkway. In addition, to help with drainage problems in the back (there's a very steep slope) Tom installed an inground drainage pipe and river stone borders. Tom and his crew arrived at 6.30-7.00am everyday and worked solidly until 5pm or later. Tom had estimated the work might take up to two weeks to complete but, with weather on our side, the job was completed in 5 days. Amazing! Wall Landscaping also perform our routine garden maintenance. They are reliable and unlike others we've encountered, never try to charge for visits they never made. Tom is polite, responsive and goes out of his way to help. His crews are always professional and do everything they can to minimise the inconvenience during construction.- Simon C.

NAWKAWExcellent job! They were able to match the new brick perfectly to the existing house brick which was 30 yrs old. You can't tell the difference. The workers are more like artists and definitely take pride in their workmanship and abilities. They showed me exactly what they planned to do and explained why. They showed me the end results and assured my satisfaction before acknowledging the job was finished. I wish I had more masonry work so I could work with them again.- Kenni E.

Zielinski Masonry & Construction IncFor years, we had water coming into our chimney and downdrafts every time we built a fire. We didn't really know why this was happening, so we called three different companies to come look at our chimney. It turns out that the chimney crown was crumbling and that the chimney was actually built too short. After getting three estimates, we chose Zielinski Masonry. They were very responsive and performed the work quickly and the job looks great. I was surprised and pleased with the care they took protecting my windows, yard ornaments, and deck. I didn't even think about these things and when I came home, everything was covered or moved. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company.- Deanna W.

TOP TO BOTTOM DETAIL SHOPHe was very prompt. He was neat. He was very nice. He did the job that I asked him to do when I did find that the house had settled even more afterwards, he came back out and reassured again in one spot, which was not his fault to start with, it is just the area I live. We have mines here, we are just wriggled with coal mines under our homes and so after he had done the leveling out and reassuring of it, once spot kind of did slid, he came back out and reassured that a little bit further. He fixed the pylons, he added to the pylons on and he did that just fine. He came right back out when I had noticed that it had sunk and it was two weeks after he was gone, it had time to settle and sink and he was right back out; prompt and made it right. I really liked him. The price was average; I don’t think that he over charged him. It was a nasty and hard job, crawling under the house doing that stuff. I thought he was reasonable. I had no qualms for the amount that he charged. He was Johnny on the spot! He called me back right away after I made my initial call to them and whenever I called back, when I had a problem, he was right here and took care of it. I am happy with his work and if I ever need more work, I would have him back. I had no complaints at all.- Debra P.

D & A Maintenance ServiceI had moved into a house that was structurally sound but needed some TLC. John was recommended by a friend and boy I was glad to find him. I don't think there is any thing that he can't do. I wasn't sure at first what exactly he did so I said to him "what exactly can you do?" and his reply was the list of what I don't do is much shorter" with a laugh in his voice. He is very pleasant to talk to. Every day he would come back and spend hours treating my home with such care, as if it was his own. I think he takes a lot of pride in his work which is something you don't see much of anymore. He was never pushy or tried to talk me into or sell me something I didn't need. It was nice to finely have someone show up when they said they would. Every morning I got up thinking he not going to be back for days especially if it was raining but every day he would show up. When it was raining he would just change to an inside project. Everyday he would ask me whats on your list. I am very picky so it was a long list but he got everything done on time just as he said he would. Thank you John, Once you use him as your handyman you won't want to give him up.- Dawn F.

Mr Rivas is a highly trained professional in his craft, which was clear from the very beginning. He listens well to customer concerns and never ignores questions. He was well recommended by a colleague in the school system as he fixed a leak on their home that even 2 other well known chimney companies could not fix when it continued to leak. I have not had a leak to date after Mr. Rivas fixed my chimney, and this work was done in October 2017. This home has had many rains and a lot of snow since. He not only went over the entire chimney area and looked for problems, but because I was new to fixing things, took a great of time to explain what was needed and what was not. He accommodated my school schedule. He and one other employee did the work, which took about a day, cleaned everything up and the chimney looked better than it had looked when the house was bought and, best of all, the leak is gone! I would recommend him not only for chimneys, but any kind of brick work. He's just that good! I have left his card with many colleagues. If you are reading this, I hope you will get a chance to try him to help with your needs.

I needed some landscaping refreshed that Aerate 1 had done for me a couple of years ago. A tree and bushes were trimmed. Rocks were raised from the soil and replaced and slabs were raised and replaced Two flower beds were cleaned up and new mulch was replaced by a tree in the parkway. Mulch was added in all areas. Another area by front steps was cleaned up and leveled and mulch added. Hector came with the crew to explain everything and left. The crew did exactly what they were suppose to do. Afterward they did a good job of cleaning up the area.

My chimney had a lot of water damage in the upper section. I received 4 estimates for my chimney repair. Two firms wanted to do a complete rebuild, and the other two (including EG) wanted to do a partial rebuild. EG rebuilt the chimney from about the roof line up (appr. 400 bricks), replaced various lower bricks that were in bad shape, tuckpointed the entire chimney, and replaced the chimney crown. I had asked about installing a chimney liner. EG evaluated the existing chimney tiles and concluded that a new liner was not necessary. Instead, he simply patched some cracked portions near the top. EG did an excellent job, and the price I paid was FAR lower than any of the other estimates I received. I would gladly hire him again. A few things to note: 1) English is not EG's native language. There were a few times I had a little trouble communicating with him. This was not a major problem, but there may be times where a text or an email is more effective. 2) EG did not provide a written estimate. Instead, he gave me an oral estimate the day he evaluated the needed repair. (I later confirmed the estimate to EG via an email.) The final repair cost was very close to the estimate ($50 off). 3) It is obvious that EG takes a lot of pride in his work. 4) I asked about applying water-proofing and EG agreed this would be a good idea. He is going to be back in a week to do that work (also at a very reasonable price).

We had new flooring put in our living room, dining room, hallway and kitchen and new carpeting on the stairs. Wonderful experience beginning with our first encounter with Annette. She was totally professional and very patient with helping us make the right decision, which wasn't an easy thing to do with us. She explained all the aspects of the difference choices in flooring several times to us which helped with our decision. She kept in touch with us throughout the installment to make sure things were going smoothly. The installers we had were polite and also very professional. Made sure things were put in the right way. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything looks wonderful!

It has taken me almost 2-years to write this review, so I hope they have improved. My experience was awful. It had been a very rainy May and the basement kept getting water in it. I called Helitech and a competitor and both were really busy. Chose Helitech because they could get there sooner. Salesman promised me they would start the work in about 2-weeks -- work wasn't done until late August. I was told they had a big job at a nursing home that had to be done first. My job was not a minor cheap change but $5,000 and not one I thought would be put on the back burner. The people in the office were just about nonexistent; I'd call and leave messages and they were never returned. Just terrible customer support! The actual work that was done was good. And while the team of workers were nice, I had proof that they had gone through some of my things in the basement. I found one of the items upstairs proving they had moved it. The whole project put me behind three months of putting the house up for sale and left me with a bad taste for this business.

Preferred Roofing did a wonderful job for us. The owner, Fred Landmesser, provided a detailed contract outlining every aspect of the work. He uses quality Owens Corning architectural shingles and other materials are upgrades as well. There are no short cuts. The roofers replaced certain sections of wood that were improperly nailed by the prior company. Our roof is solid and aesthetically pleasing - a real improvement to the overall curb appeal of the house. Besides the quality work Fred’s company provides, expect some excellent customer service. Fred called us multiple times - to update on orders, schedules, arrival times, etc. He picks up the phone or shortly calls back. That’s comforting when you have engaged a company for a big ticket project. He made good on every single thing we discussed. The clean up was amazing with landscaping and lawn protected by tarps. The men use a “magnet on a pole” to pick up stray nails on the ground. I highly endorse Preferred Roofing for a worry free roofing project.

I had a hail storm hit my house 8/17/19. I was in search of a roofing company to replace the roof on my barn, and I was referred to Western States Construction by a family friend. I had Randy, the owner of Western States Construction, come out 9/30/19 to give me a quote on the job. His price was about the same as the others, but since he was referred to me I used him. Randy told me he could start during the first part of November, but he did not start until the end of January. This was after multiple assurances that he would start the next week. Once Western States Construction started the job, I was left without a roof for weeks in the rain and snow. Everything in my barn was wet. I store hay in my barn. Consequently, it was all ruined and had to be disposed of as a result of their negligence. After the project was deemed done by the contractor, my barn and yard were in complete disarray. The workers had been driving through my yard, leaving ruts which they then proceeded to fill with gravel from my driveway. Furthermore, when I cut my grass this spring, I will have to worry about causing even more damage. Nails and screws were all over my yard and driveway which then gave the worker's vehicles flat tires.this had me worried to drive on my own driveway. Lightning rods were supposed to be removed and not put back on, but the workers put them back on incorrectly. they They dropped boards on my overhead power lines which made me lose half the power to my house as a result of this had to have comed come out and restore power. Garbage was left all over and they even dropped stuff through my chicken coop, which is next to the barn. This also caused my chickens to get loose because the debris made a hole in the chicken wire. They also did not seal the ridge of barn properly and snow and rain still blows in. The worst part of the whole job is that there are 1000's of dents all over the roof because they did not pull all of the nails prior to putting metal down. It literally looks like a hail storm hit from the underside. Now they are requesting full payment for a job that is not done and looks absolutely terrible. I have been told by the contractor that there is nothing that can be done unless they tear it all off. A service they will only provide if I pay them on top of the initially contracted amount. Also, I found out no permits were pulled. I found this out while I was trying to obtain their insurance and bond information from the county. The workmanship of Western States construction was well below what they had promised to deliver. The owner of Western States Construction even said that he could not believe his workers had done such a poor job. The work has not been completed in a way that any self respecting human being would call professional. I am thoroughly dissatisfied with the work of this company. Western states construction has been out to review there work, but they have not addressed any of my concern's to my satisfaction. They are just requesting I pay them in full.
