"I had a really bad shower and toilet clog so I decided to contact flo-maxx and they sent 2 professionals, Garret and Raymond to do the job but I wasn’t sure if they would be able to clear the drain, they definitely cleared it super quick and also cleaned my floor afterwards. They finally left but there was a small leak from the toilet water line and I called them and they came back again to check it and fix it, no big deal they did great! 10/10"

"The 2 plumbers who came were great and the projects were completed to my satisfaction. My one concern was cost. The one guy adjusted the flushing mechanism and replaced the flap in the tank of the toilet. The other replaced a gas valve behind a range. They were here for just about 1 hour. With minimal parts required and only 1 hour work, I felt the $500 charge was a bit excessive. Having had other work J&S completed over the past few years that I thought was more fairly priced, I am willing to try again, but some consideration should be given to the length of time it takes to complete a project rather than just going with the list price for a project."

"Toilet was leaking from tank bolt. Plumber Chris tightened and also checked the other two toilet tank bolts, and while he was at it also corrected the water level in the tanks which was great and I'm glad he did that to avoid future toilet issues. Would hire again!"

There are a few ways to unclog a toilet without a plunger. Break up the clog with homemade solutions containing soap, vinegar, and baking soda, or simply let hot water spend some time in the drain. You generally cannot replace a 10-inch rough-in toilet with a 12-inch model without making significant plumbing updates. A 12-inch rough-in toilet will not fit a 10-inch rough-in space because the floor drain is in the wrong position. To accommodate the larger toilet, you would need to move the drainpipe, which could cost between $0.75 and $30 per linear foot, plus labor. In most cases, it is more cost-effective and simpler to purchase a new 10-inch rough-in toilet. However, it is possible to install a 10-inch rough-in toilet in a 12-inch space by using a longer connector.

To drain a broken toilet, place towels or plastic sheeting around the base in case of splashing or overflowing. Next, shut off the toilet’s water supply, usually via a valve on the wall behind the toilet. Begin flushing the handle to remove as much water as possible from the tank and the bowl. Don’t flush the toilet if it’s clogged, though. From there, use a large sponge to soak up any remaining water and wring it over a bucket.

The auger is a plumbing snake with a protective sleeve to protect the porcelain toilet bowl from getting scratched. Using too large of an auger can cause the snake to loop back and damage the inside of the drain and plumbing.
