Mr. Handyman of Grayslake

Hired this company to replace some spindles on a deck. Very poor quality and install. Tried reaching out a DOZEN times to have them repair concerns and haven't been able to get a hold of anyone.

Non responsive, unable to estimate the job properly. I have to keep chase him trying to begin the job in the first place. The person who provided the quote went on vacation for a month. The person who came to do the work was not able to finish the work in the allocated time, and the understanding was it will be completed subsequently. However this never happened. I keep getting run around to get Handyman to complete the job that was originally quoted for.

I like that they are professional. They sure know what they are doing and the final result is great. However, they are a little bit expensive. But for me, it was worth it.

The work was fast and great. Service very friendly and knowledgeable. But they quote low and charge a lot more at the end of the job. Be sure to plan on 30 to 50% more than quoted.

Yanked my chain for 2 weeks for scheduling called multiple times. Was finally scheduled for a friday, well Friday happened and absolutely nothing happened. They finally called me the following Monday after I had already left the country asking if I still needed to schedule something. Sorry, too little too late.

They were able to get me an appointment within 3 days. The actual job came under the estimate. The man that came to do the job was very professional and was done with the whole thing in less than 2 hours.

we hired them for a simple job but also needed other work. they didn't charge for the first job and performed the other work

This handyman did a good job of placing new tile where the bathtub had been, but: 1. He left the bathroom a mess. That is, he did not clean up after himself and left the bathroom floor a mess, and 2. He managed to use $80 worth of water running the outdoor faucet in the back yard. This resulted in a written notice and a phone call from the village who were concerned that I had a toilet running or a plumbing leak somewhere in my house.

We were quoted one price and charged another. Would have been helpful to know the price was changing before work was completed. For second job, faucet replacement, we were not given a quote and my husband neglected to ask for an estimate. That job cost more than we had anticipated as well. Otherwise, we were satisfied.
