"he was great and got the electricity connected within a reasonable time frame. He and Charlie both were very comunicative. He was going to provide a quote for some future work and provide a receipt for the work he did. So, far I've not received either. I talked to Charlie about it, but so far I've not received either."

"I bought an older house and was wanting to have some electrical work done. So I gave CJ electric a phone call and right out of the gate was very pleased with the customer service and effort put into even just a quote. I was helped with any question I asked, above and beyond. The cost was very affordable and the entire house looked great and worked great when CJ electric finished up. From start to finish they have been great to work with. No mess and no hassle. Highly recommend them."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

In Caldwell, habits like plugging space heaters or air conditioners into overloaded circuits during summer, skipping regular checks on outdoor wiring after harsh winters, and relying on extension cords instead of proper outlets can all reduce your electrical system’s lifespan. DIY electrical fixes without proper knowledge and ignoring signs of aging wiring—especially in older Caldwell homes—also increase the risk of premature panel or circuit breaker failure.

Helpful?

Caldwell homeowners are choosing smart home automation, energy-efficient LED lighting, and panel upgrades to support EV charging stations. Outdoor living spaces are enhanced with deck and patio lighting, while kitchens are being rewired for high-powered appliances. Many are also preparing for solar panel installation, reflecting Caldwell’s interest in renewable energy and functional, modern living tailored to local weather and lifestyle needs.

Helpful?

In Caldwell, making your home safer for children and pets means installing tamper-resistant outlets, upgrading to AFCI breakers, and using weatherproof covers on outdoor outlets to withstand Idaho’s seasonal changes. Consider adding whole-house surge protection and ensuring proper outdoor lighting for darker winter months. Upgrading to smart panels and securing cords in high-traffic areas also helps create a safer, more family-friendly environment.

Helpful?

Your Caldwell home may need electrical upgrades if it was built before the 1980s, has frequent circuit breaker trips, or limited outlets—especially in historic neighborhoods. If you notice flickering lights, have outdated knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring, or plan to install an EV charging station or solar panels, it’s wise to consider a panel upgrade or complete rewiring to meet modern safety standards.

Helpful?

In Caldwell, hidden costs during electrical projects often involve permit fees, panel upgrades for older homes, and code compliance updates. Unexpected expenses can arise if asbestos or lead is discovered in homes built before 1980. Additional costs may include trenching for new outdoor wiring, upgrading service lines, addressing weather-related delays, or making structural changes to access outdated wiring behind walls or ceilings.
