"John is amazing! I've lived in my mobile home for 10 years and the siding was caked with mold. I decided I needed a power wash service immediately and began my search. I came across the Home Advisor/Angi page and as soon as I requested a quote John called me immediately. He called me even as I was leaving him a message that's how fast and responsive he is! He gave me a quote, showed up bright and early, gave me the details to what he intended to do, and within an hour and a half or so he got my mobile home looking like a brand new one! I was so impressed with his work and he is a VERY NICE man! I would most definitely hire him again and recommend him to anyone who wants a power wash service!"

"Hired for a concrete patch job outside of a leaking basement window. Payton was very friendly and willing to listen to my specific request. A few weeks and heavy rains later, no leak! Reasonable price and even sealed a hole in my downspout for free (not pictured). Thank you!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

If you’re installing new drywall, you may need to skim coat the drywall first for a smooth finish and to allow the primer to adhere to the wall. It’s only necessary if there are imperfections in your drywall due to issues with the studs or improper drywall installation. If you’re refreshing existing walls, you may want to skim coat if there are imperfections across the wall. As an alternative, you can repair your drywall and sand it for a smooth finish before painting.

Venetian plaster is a highly durable wall finish that becomes a rock-like substance once dried, making it last longer than most other wall finishes. Its lifespan can range from decades to centuries, potentially lasting a lifetime. Key factors influencing its longevity include the quality of the initial application, whether it's properly sealed against moisture, and how the wall is maintained and treated (e.g., how often it is touched or bumped). Due to its mineral content, it can also develop a patina over time.

If you're comfortable hanging drywall yourself, you may be comfortable finishing it. But it's worth noting that finishing drywall adds several steps to the process and a lot of waiting time. Hiring a drywall installer may be the way to go if you'd rather spend your time doing other things or are nervous about leaving a rough surface.

Yes, it is possible to rewire a house without removing the drywall, but this doesn’t work in all homes. You can pull out old wires and insert new ones if you have access to the wiring system via the ceiling or through a crawl space. Some pros can also use a magnetic kit to fish the old wire out of the wall through a hole cavity and install the new wires. Just keep in mind that doing this is less stable than removing drywall, as you won’t be able to staple the wires into the framing.

It's generally recommended to hang drywall on the ceiling first before moving on to the walls. This sequence allows the ceiling sheets to provide support for the vertical wall sheets. By attaching the ceiling drywall initially, you establish a solid framework to align and attach the wall panels accurately. This method ensures a seamless and sturdy connection between the ceiling and walls, resulting in a more professional finish.
