"I was referred to Paze Heating and Cooling by a well-respected friend, and I immediately understood why. I have referred this company to several others and will continue to do so. Mr. Zeno Pace and his team are expert technicians. His responsiveness is very timely and his pricing is well worth the level of service he gives. I recently had an A/C problem that was covered by my home warranty company. Mr. Zeno helped me understand and articulate the repairs needed so that I would not be taken advantage of by the other contractor. Ultimately, I was taken advantage of by the other contractor, and Paze Heating and Air came to the rescue. Mr. Zeno responded immediately and fixed the damage the other contractor left. You will not go wrong with Paze Heating and Cooling."

"Best HVAC company I've ever used. I won't use anyone else. They take their time to always do the right thing. And their work is always clean and tight. I'm very grateful I found them for our old house."

"I did a quote on Angie needing help with my newly installed HVAC system in my recently purchased home. Kevin was the first person to call me, I explained what was going on he asked a series of questions and eventually referred me to the installer of the system. Informing me there should be a minimum one year installers warranty, to figure out whom installed it and to get them back out as to not void my manufacture warranty by allowing someone else work on the system. I received and used information from my broker and the same day 4/24/26 called the original installer and they are coming today 4/28/26 to fix this brand new system. The Peoples Champ Heating & Air, will be my go to experts once this courtesy one year warranty is up for sure. Thanks Kevin. For being a honest decent person, caring more about your craft and building relationships then making a Buck."

"They did exactly what they said they would do in our estimate and more. They even fixed an exhaust duct that had been damaged previously by another contractor. They ( Moises Garcia and his co worker) were on time, highly professional, did a fabulous job of clean up and it did not take as long to install as we thought it would. We are very happy with their work and our new HVAC system, it performs very well, so much better than the old system ever did."

"Paul identified and resolved several issues with my HVAC system. It is a three zone system with dampers, one of which had failed. Though he hoped to replace the server, it was non-standard and he had to cut into the plenum and replace the entire damper unit. Plus the layout of the system was such that access to the area was unusually difficult. He also serviced the outside condenser unit more thoroughly than I have seen over the years. And installed one wi-fi thermostat and moved another. I felt that his charges were very reasonable considering all that was asked of him. I have no hesitation to recommend Paul Bessey for HVAC work."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

When an evaporator coil becomes faulty, it can result in various problems within your HVAC system. These problems could include reduced cooling or heating capabilities due to ice formation and obstructed airflow, along with increased energy consumption and higher bills. Additionally, a damaged coil may lead to refrigerant leaks, which are environmentally harmful and decrease overall system efficiency.

Ultimately, if not addressed right away, a bad evaporator coil can even lead to a complete failure of your HVAC system. That’s why timely repair or replacement is crucial to maintaining your family’s comfort and your HVAC’s efficiency.

Yes, you can build a deck over your outdoor HVAC unit, but you need to leave at least 5 feet of vertical clearance above the unit. If you don’t want your deck to be that high off the ground, you could build a floating deck in another part of your yard—again, as long as you leave at least 4 feet of horizontal space between the deck and your AC unit.

The length of an AC cycle depends on the settings in your thermostat and the unit you have. Central AC doesn't constantly run at full blast the way that a window unit does. A cooling cycle in most homes is 15 to 20 minutes. Then, the unit stays off for seven to 10 minutes to circulate the cold air in the house before the cycle repeats. It should repeat two or three times per hour. A short cycle lasts less than 10 minutes and then turns off.

You can buy a house with a 15-year-old HVAC system if you inspect the system for performance and budget for a replacement within the next three years. You can also negotiate the price with the sellers. Ask to look at the unit’s maintenance records and energy bills for the last two years to determine the shape of the HVAC system and its operating costs. Spend time in each room of the house to gauge if the HVAC keeps the home at a consistent temperature throughout.

A calculation method that your HVAC contractor will use to ensure your system does what it's supposed to is measuring duct output, or its CFM. The calculation requires knowing the cross-sectional area of the ductwork and determining the air speed past any given point within it.
