"Can't speak highly enough about my experience working with Barry. I had all of the flooring replaced in my home (approximately 2000 SF). Barry communicated thoroughly throughout the entire process. He and his team showed up on time and completed the project in 1 day, including removal of existing flooring. His pricing was more than fair and the quality of work was top-notch. You will not be disappointed in choosing to hire this company for any of your flooring needs!"

"I had a great experience overall with Footprints Floors Peachtree City. The flooring installation turned out amazing. The quality of the work really shows, and I’m very happy with how everything looks. That said, there were a couple of things that didn’t sit quite right with me. During the project, it was mentioned that removing the old floors took longer than expected, followed by a comment that they wouldn’t charge extra for it. That felt unnecessary, since the timing estimate should have been accounted for upfront. Also, I noticed a few small holes in the bathroom grout. It’s a small space and not a major issue, but something I think could have been tightened up a bit more. Overall, the final result looks great, and I’d still consider them for future projects, but a bit more attention to communication and finishing details would make the experience even better."

Customers say: Terrific value

"Arbor Floors is a family operated business, which I prefer. You don't deal with someone who hires someone else to do the job. Victor and his team did a great job refinishing our hardwoods and installing baseboards. They were very professional and respectful. Arbor Floors is my go to flooring contractor."

"Since this pattern takes extra time and precision—especially on an upper floor—the installation took a few extra days. The team made sure the subfloor was level before starting and explained every step along the way. They were professional, detail-oriented, and super careful moving materials upstairs. The final cost was $12,400, which was fair for the amount of work involved. My second floor now looks luxurious and elegant, and the unique pattern makes the space feel even bigger. If you’re thinking about getting herringbone hardwood, Dalton Flooring Gallery is the way to go!"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.

In a wet room, you need a floor that won’t sustain damage with constant exposure to water, but your options are normally the same as with a bathroom. Ceramic and porcelain tile are suitable options, as are natural stone like granite and marble, much like in a standard bathroom. Since a wet room’s floor is more likely to be wet, you should choose a flooring option with some texture to reduce how slippery the material gets.

Removing laminate flooring is fairly straightforward compared to removing other types of flooring. The planks click and lock into place, so you can pry them loose without much fuss. If you plan to reuse your flooring, you must be careful not to damage the plank or the locking mechanism that keeps it in place. If it’s in good condition, you can reuse it in another room.

Yes, installing laminate over carpet could negatively affect the resale value of your home. It’s no surprise that homebuyers prefer flooring that someone has installed according to industry standards. Laminate over carpet may raise concerns about the quality and stability of the flooring, impacting the overall perceived value of the property.

Laminate flooring takes about 24 to 48  hours to settle. Before this, planks are not completely acclimated to your home, and walking on them could cause shifting and permanent damage to the flooring. You should allow floorboards to acclimate for 48 to 72 hours before installing so that they can adjust to your home’s humidity and temperature levels, but they will continue to acclimate and settle after installation. For this reason, avoid placing any furniture in the room for 72 hours after installation.

Your floors will continue to settle for a few months after installation, becoming less bouncy as they rest.
