"Donald Rogerson responded very quickly, analyzed the photos I sent him, knew exactly what to bring, and provided a very reasonable quote over the phone. He reassured me from the start, and took control of the situation with the utmost professionalism and clear communication. His work was impeccable, and he even insisted on cleaning up. I heartily recommend him, not only for water heater issues, but for any indoor plumbing need. He will certainly be my plumber from now on."

"Both inspections were very thorough, professional, and the technicians were very informative. The only issue arose when came to billing with plumbing. Though I had thoroughly explained what I needed and wanted with the office staff, and was quoted a $79 fee I was presented with a $439 bill. When I contested this amount the tech showed me the amount listed on the card they are given for pricing. He then called his supervisor who agreed to the $79 fee. Positive in the end on that one. During the plumbing inspection the tech found an issue with one of the toilets. I inquired about the price for them to install. I was quoted $849. Needless to say, even though this included the supplies, I did not choose to use Ragsdale for this need. Finally, at least one of the staff in the office was neither interested or seemed to care that Ragsdale was listed with bad information on their listing on Angie's list. Nor did she seem interested in answering questions I had about services. If it were not for a subsequent call to Ragsdale and another office staff person I would not have found the awesome techs of Ragsdale. Seems to be a bit of disconnect between office staff and the techs in the field."

"

Water was dripping from the A/C vent in our basement bathroom.  I had a plumbing company come out.  They inspected the drains and pipes in the bathroom on the floor above and found no problem.  They said it must be condensation coming from uninsulated A/C ductwork.  I called Dayco Systems because I have purchased new systems from them and have service contracts for all 3 of my systems.  I spoke with Katie and explained my problem.  Even though they were very busy, she asked Ben, a truly great service rep, to see if he could find the time to come out and take a look at the problem.  Upon his arrival and inspection of the leak, he asked if he could cut away part of the wet drywall on the ceiling to get a better look at the problem as the A/C ductwork at that vent seemed to be intact and dry.  When a portion of the wet ceiling was cut away, he identified the problem as a leaking copper water line.  I asked if there was anything he could do to repair it rather than me having to call out the plumbing company again.  He said he could and he would speak with Dean (owner and another truly great guy) and get back to me.  He was soon back with the necessary part.  He cut away the leaking section of pipe and made the repair.  I thanked him and asked what I owed for doing a job that he and Dayco could have easily said was not their responsibility and he said I owed them nothing.  He said they appreciated my business (they had installed two new systems for me last April) and they appreciated me recommending them to my neighbors (one of which bought a new system also).  I was speechless.  I truly believed that companies like Dayco Systems did not exist anymore.  I am happy to say I was wrong.  Thank you Dean, Ben, Katie and all the other great people that work for Dayco Systems.  You have a customer that will be loyal to you as long as you are in business.

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Homes built on slab foundations require concrete cutting for drain rerouting, making plumbing significantly more complex. In older GA properties, low-clearance crawl spaces restrict access for repairs and leave pipes vulnerable to freezing temperatures. Additionally, hillside homes feature complex gravity drainage configurations. If you have a private septic system, strict setback requirements will dictate exactly where you can add new bathrooms or laundry facilities.

Helpful?

First, verify whether your new home connects to the municipal sewer or operates on a private septic system. Next, inspect all exposed supply lines in your crawl space for missing insulation or past freeze damage. Since GA experiences intermittent hard freezes, replace any standard outdoor hose bibs with frost-proof models. If your property uses a private well, test the water quality to determine your treatment needs.

Helpful?

Start by checking crawl space vents and adding pipe insulation before Temple experiences its first hard winter freeze. In spring, inspect your sewer lines for root intrusion caused by aggressive growth in the red clay soil. During the hot summer, test your water heater pressure relief valve. Finally, prepare for fall by clearing exterior cleanouts and inspecting washing machine hoses before holiday demand increases.

Helpful?

Maintain a steady supply of pipe insulation and vent covers to protect your system during freezing winter nights in Temple. Keep enzymatic drain cleaners on hand to clear organic buildup without disrupting your septic system bacteria. You should also store basic hand tools to operate older gate valves, ensuring you can quickly shut off the main water supply during any unexpected plumbing emergencies.

Helpful?

Homeowners frequently underestimate the impact of expansive red clay soil, which makes exterior trenching for plumbing difficult. You must also verify if your property relies on a private septic system rather than the municipal sewer. Finally, older homes in Temple often contain aging galvanized steel or cast iron pipes. Always hire licensed professionals to handle these complex upgrades and ensure all required building permits are secured.
