"I recently had Mr. Electric of Douglasville out to install an EV charger outlet at my home, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the communication was excellent. The team was professional, friendly, and kept me informed throughout the process. The installation itself was handled perfectly—clean, efficient, and high-quality work. It’s great to find a reliable local team that delivers on their promises. I will definitely be using them again for future projects around the house!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"Great experience with BriteBox Electrical Services. Cory Henderson was professional, respectful, and easy to communicate with from start to finish. I showed him where I wanted the outlet installed, and he handled everything with precision. He took the time to protect the work area, safely shut down the circuit, and completed a clean, high-quality installation. The workmanship was excellent. I’ll definitely be requesting Cory again for future projects. Highly recommend!"

"Simon Electric was great! I spoke with him that morning, and they were there the same day! Very professional and safe! He even left (power company had to come out to do their part) and came back to ensure that the job was taken care of. Thank you so much! I highly recommend home to get the job done. He is definitely my new electrician!"

"I was charged  $79 for the plumber to come to the house, this amount was not
credited to the bill.  Since the work was done I believe that this charge should
have been  credited.  The plumber said we needed a new faucet and that he had
.one on the truck.  I asked him how much, he said about $100 dollars and  I agreed
When the bill came in the charge for the faucet was $290 dollars.  I called Ragsdale
and the girl called the plumber (James) and he said he told me it was 100 dollars for instalation
That was a lie.  I would never have allowed them to put a $290 faucet in --- I would have bought one
myself.   I had given my American Express card to the office and the charge was put on that.  They did give
me a senior discount of 49 dollars------but  the bill was still  $502.00 withe the discount.   And they are # 1
on your list!!!!

"Hamrick, electric wired my home, I was and am still happy with their job. Which is why I approached them for my Generac. I could have payed less, but decided on Hamrick because they are local and the product I think superior to others. Wasn't real happy with the time line, 3 or 4 months. Sometimes hard to get a real person on the phone. The gas contractor although excellent took I think to long. But, again couldn't be happier with the installation. The installers were stellar, very happy with their work. I wish the warranty would have been explained better other than x years on one thing and x years on a other. I really don't know what it is. Overall I give it a 4 + star."

"After dealing with multiple electricians telling us different things and trying to sell us expensive upgrades, Jim was the first person who actually took the time to properly diagnose the issue instead of trying to make money off of us. He immediately recognized that Georgia Power needed to be called out, which ended up saving us thousands in unnecessary repairs. What really stood out was how dedicated and patient he was throughout the entire process. He stayed with us while waiting for Georgia Power, explained everything clearly, and as soon as they finished their part, he immediately solved the issue. Honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about helping people instead of upselling them. Highly recommend Jim to anyone needing electrical work done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

A 3-prong, 15-amp, 120-volt outlet is standard in the U.S. These have two vertical slots and a U-shaped grounding hole, which suits most home electronics, from televisions to microwaves. Three-pronged outlets are safer than 2-pronged ones, as the third wire, known as the grounding wire, helps prevent shocks and electrical fires.

Yes, you can splice electrical wires together to make them longer. If you follow the proper safety protocols and match the correct colors, you can save yourself from getting a brand-new circuit and add length to your wires to get them where they need to go.

Choosing between 12- or 14-gauge wire for your house depends on the electrical requirements of the circuit. A 12-gauge wire is thicker and can handle more power, making it better suited for devices such as kitchen appliances, air conditioning units, or electric heaters.

A 14-gauge wire is thinner and can handle less electrical current than a 12-gauge wire. It's ideal for circuits with lower power requirements, such as lighting or general-purpose outlets in bedrooms or living rooms.

Smart glass doesn’t use a lot of electricity, and you can expect a standard window to add between $1 and $2 per year to your electric bills. Smart glass is proof that energy-efficient windows work. Although your smart windows may consume a little energy to operate, they can save enough energy to offset the costs. If you’re concerned about the minimal bump to your electricity consumption, you can opt for smart tint, which doesn’t require electricity to work.

You should not attempt to disable a smoke alarm unless you’ve already activated a replacement unit. To stop a hardwired smoke alarm from beeping, reset the device or silence the alarm. If you’re removing a hardwired alarm, shut off the power, turn the unit counterclockwise to remove it from the ceiling, and disconnect the wiring.
