"The free estimate from Northside Tree Pros was quick and straightforward, and I never felt pressured to add services I didn’t need. The crew was fast, professional, and had the job done with my yard cleaned up in no time. I work in arboriculture and green space management, so I’m pretty particular about tree work, and because of that, there wasn’t another company I even considered for my own yard. Highly recommend, and thanks to the whole team!"

"First off I should praise Greg for being able to get to me so quickly once I had chosen his team for this job.  They were able to get this job done for me within 24 to 48 hours of my call.
The 13 year old Problem Oak Tree in my front yard was buckling my driveway and only feet from 2 water meters, the streets main telephone line box, and in danger of falling on my home. This tree was to large for the space it was planted in by builder and a possible danger of falling on my home in storms. This tree had to be carefully removed due to all the water, sewer, and underground lines all around it not to mention my driveway that was only 2 feet away.
Greg's Team from Bear Tree were great professionals and carefully disected this tree piece by small piece without damaging any of the obstacles near this tree.  They ground the stump to below ground level as requested to meet my associations requirement for the tree removal.  Bear Tree also cut down one dead pine tree from my backyard.  I had one pine tree that had already fallen so Bear Tree removed and ground all 3 of these large trees.  They cleaned up my yard very nicely.
They were a pleasure to do business with and I would call on Greg again should I need tree's removed.
Many thanks to Greg and Crew.

"The team at Tree Surgeon Atlanta were wonderful! There were prompt, professional and kind. We had two large trees near our house that needed to go due to termite damage and rotting. They were careful and strategic with their process. The trees were taken down and removed within a few hours. Thank you all so much for taking care of us!"

"These guys were great. I hired them to take down some very large dead trees and clear a bunch of nasty brush, vines, and fallen trees along my steep creek bank. It was certainly not a very attractive job. I was pretty impressed at their ingenuity and skill at cutting and extracting the trees from the creek. They initially thought it was a 2 day job, but they brought a crew of 6 and knocked it out in one day working past dark to get it done. I paid them in full, thanked them, and sent them on their way. The next day in the daylight I was kind of disappointed in the end product, not terrible, but still a lot of small loose brush and vines on the ground and ruts from the bobcat. I contacted Alberto and he immediately sent 3 guys back out to do some rake and shovel work for a few hours to dress up the area and get it looking good. These are friendly, customer service oriented people with a good work ethic and integrity. Highly recommend."

"This company is amazing. From my first meeting with Omar I felt like I was talking to a friend.. He made the whole experience of such a large project of cutting down 3 large trees and replacing a privacy fence feel not so overwhelming. His team worked fast , safely and efficiently . I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again in the future!"

"Great price, timely and professional. I would recommend you get an estimate from this company when you need trees removed or trimmed. Cleaned up after themselves and made sure I was happy with work before they left."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

If you’re wondering whether you can plant a tree where the stump was removed, know that the soil conditions won’t be ideal, so you should avoid it. The soil beneath the previous tree will likely be depleted of nutrients, plus there may be roots left behind that will seriously hinder the growth of a new tree. Also, if you use salt or other chemical solutions to kill the stump, these can linger in the soil for months or even years and prevent healthy growth. It’s best to choose a different spot that’s at least three feet away for a new tree, or wait at least a year and thoroughly amend the soil before you plant.

Only trim palm trees as needed, which is usually about once per year. However, don't stick to that schedule if the palm tree doesn't need it. Avoid trimming palm trees when possible. It’s best to trim palm trees only when you notice a buildup of dead fronds. That said, leave the brown fronds during the dormant season because this organic matter helps protect the tree from the cooler weather.

No. Topping a tree refers to severely cutting down all its major branches and tree in a straight line. It was once recommended for streetside deciduous trees but has fallen out of practice. Topping leads to many problems, removing so much of the tree that many trees struggle to survive and become much more vulnerable to insects and diseases. Also, it doesn’t really help tree growth as once assumed and often leads to an ugly appearance of many sprouting stems in competition to become new main branches.

Dead trees are dangerous for several reasons. They are structurally compromised and prone to branch or trunk failure, which can pose a significant safety risk to people, vehicles, and nearby structures. Dead trees can also harbor pests like termites, which may spread to other trees or your home. If a tree died from a disease, it could spread the illness to healthy trees. Additionally, the dry wood is highly flammable, increasing fire risk.

Tree removal can be quite expensive, especially for larger projects, but you can use the following tips to help keep costs down:

  • Do the yard cleanup afterward yourself

  • Choose to leave the logs on your property and split them yourself

  • Opt to leave the stump in the ground and tackle stump grinding yourself

  • Pull permits for tree removal, if necessary, to avoid fines

  • Pay to have multiple trees removed at once

  • Remove tree in the late winter or early spring during off-season
