"DO NOT USE!! The owner of Aqua Blue Pools, Rick McDermott, is a disguising excuse for a human being. He purposely and intentionally steals your money without doing work. He is a complete scam artist and knowingly performs 20% of the work and then disappears with your money. His contract is written to scam you. He uses your hard earned money to go on elaborate vacations with his friends. He is a complete con man so don’t be fooled by his outgoing, friendly personality. Every word out of his mouth is a lie. RUN from this man and warn anyone of him."

"I hired aqua fun to install a in ground fiberglass pool in early February 2020. After multiple emails, texts, and phone calls the owner Andy Cook won’t warranty his workmanship. I have tried to be be patient and understanding but He has missed multiple appointments and after missing today’s appointment tells me I’m a lier and I’ve never mentioned all the issues. So I reminded him by sending him screenshots of the conversations. He has been paid in full and won’t warranty the issues. Scratches in fiberglass from installers hammering 2x4 wood to support pool walls while back filling. Footprints in finished concrete from installers . Uneven concrete color which I was told on April 22 to give it 2-3 weeks and it would even out which it hasn’t. And today I was told I was a liar and a drunk by the owner. I thought that was funny because I don’t even drink.Lol!! I’m a local business owner and work in the construction field and have recommend his company to many new home builders. I will never recommend using Aqua Fun to any new clients of mine."

Our Mission is to Provide you with award winning designs, top notch customer service, and the utmost integrity, all at the Lowest Possible cost! We accomplish this through assisting you in Building Your Own Pool. You do not need to have swimming pool or construction experience! Building a swimming pool requires 9 TO 13 phone calls. (Yes it really is that simple) and if it ever seems like too much, you have a true professional guiding you through the process and willing to jump in at any time! Additioal DBAs - Build Your Own Pool of Georgia LLC, Build Your Own Pool of Georgia.

"BEWARE of this company and the owner Wendy Schneider, DO NOT USE this company to make such a large investment, it is worth it to find a more reputable contractor to build your pool (see my review and reviews by Janson M, Tim S, Quincy A, Mike W and others, this is a clear pattern). Three months ago we signed a contract with Wendy to "build the pool of our dreams", Wendy takes a fee upfront and provides you with a binder with some drawings of the pool and a list of contractors. Her team explained to my wife, kids and I that they would help manage the whole process and we had nothing to worry about. WRONG As soon as we had some complications between the County of Forsyth Public Health and the septic company Wendy told me that that was my problem and began to place all of the blame on me for having issues with my current septic system and she and her employees washed their hands of my problem, placed the blame on me and said we have done our job you have your booklet of papers good luck, call us when you have the issue resolved. So frustrating, I remember we were communicated up front that if we have any issues or problems Wendy and her team will be here to HELP, they were NOT. Since we have major complications with our septic system and will cost over $25,000+ to move and repair, we clearly communicated to Wendy and our salesperson (who she fired last week), that we cannot pay that in addition to the pool and was not in our budget for this project when we started. Since the very first meeting in our back yard our salesperson assured us that if we had to move our septic to the front yard (which she assured us would NOT be the case) we would be refunded our down payment and part as friends. WOAH, I made a HUGE mistake and paid Wendy before we had a septic survey and County Public Health thumbs up on the septic pool plan, not due to circumstances that I did not know before I signed, I cannot afford to continue building the pool AND Wendy and Build Your Own Pool of Georgia WILL NOT REFUND OUR FEE, stating that the fee is for the three-ring binder with some pictures and contractor names in it, something that takes a few hours, in my opinion, to put together. Now Wendy is sending me page-long emails telling me how stupid I am and that I signed a contract and that I should read the fine print and Wendy is stating going back on everything she and her salesperson said to get the contract signed. Here is Wendy's latest comments in an email, "I plan to provide a copy of your threats and e mails to any place you write anything untrue along with a copy of the CONTRACT YOU SIGNED. Provide your attorney information and I will direct my correspondence to him/her and have them served with the suit we will be filing against you to recover monies owed." YIKES, sounds like she has done this before (more than once). MY ONLY HOPE is to post here and prevent other good people from doing business with Wendy Schneider and Build Your Own Pool of Georgia. North Atlanta Pool Services, Inc was formed in December of 1987 by Jim Morgan. Prior to this, Jim was involved in all aspects of the swimming pool service industry. He worked for a pool company during the summer while he was in high school and thru college. In early 1987, Jim tried to buy the company he was working for as the owner was looking to get out. Fortunately, a deal could not be struck and North Atlanta Pool Services, Inc. (NAPSI) was born. We have always prided ourselves on fast responses to requests, knowledgeable service techs and mechanics and top notch products and services. We will respond to any request after office hours or on weekends. Our clients know that they can trust us with any problem, request or renovation. We are a family owned business with (2) of my son’s are actively involved. Landon Morgan and Jimmy Morgan have grown up in this business and know it like the back of their hand. Many of my other employees have been here over 20 years. In 1992, we started our pool construction business. Since then we have built pools that range from the simple rectangle, negative edge pools, infinity edge pools and spas and elaborate hard scape pools with boulders and waterfalls. We can handle any construction project from start to finish no matter the size. We can supply numerous referrals at your request. Additional Email- [email protected]

FAQs for pool construction and installation projects in Atlanta, GA

The average cost of an above-ground pool is between $1,100 and $5,700. Costs will vary depending on the type of pool you install. The low end of the price range includes a DIY kit for around $800 and goes up to about $15,000 for a custom pool with extra features like a deck and water features. Building an above-ground pool is much faster than installing an inground one. The cost tends to be much lower for an above-ground pool than for an inground pool because there’s less labor involved, especially when it comes to excavation and running plumbing and electrical lines.

Installing an inground pool costs around $55,000, on average. The typical price range is between $39,000 and $70,000, depending on the size and type of pool and accessibility of the site. This project requires an experienced pool installation contractor as the project usually involves extensive excavation, plumbing, electrical, concrete, and careful grading of the concrete or pavers around the pool.

Adding a spa to a pool is worth it if you use it enough. Adding a built-in spa to an inground pool can cost between $15,000 and $20,000, on top of installing the pool. A separate hot tub costs between $5,000 and $8,000. These prices will vary depending on the hot tub's size, type, and features. Additional costs include maintenance, electricity, and plumbing.

From start to finish, building an inground pool takes anywhere from two to four months. Factors that impact time to completion include any weather delays, material delays or shortages, scheduling conflicts, and any unforeseen challenges. The project may take most of the pool season, depending on where you live. Because of this, it’s a good idea to start getting estimates and finding a qualified pool company at least a year before your anticipated installation. Spring and summer is the busy season for pool contractors, which impacts their availability as projects are typically booked for several weeks if not months.
