"We at Martin Pools have a special one day sales event for Polaris pool cleaners. Polaris reps who are the factory technicians, come in and work on the pool cleaners at no charge. It gives the opportunity for the customers to meet with the techs and ask questions pertaining to their cleaner. In this case, the husband was given several options: either do not repair, repair, or buy a new one. The husband decided to purchase a new cleaner. As far as a 2016 unit originally brought in, its possible. But its also possible that it was a 2011 manufactured unit. We don't know where or when the unit was purchased. I do know the old frame assembly is destroyed by the factory reps so it cant be resold over the internet as a new unit. There is no cleaner for her to come back and pick up. We would be more than happy to give the customer back their money on the new unit if they had not installed it and cut the hoses. I'd even be willing to go to the manufacturer and see if they can do a one time special discount for the lady. But at this point I don't even have a record of her even coming into my store let alone any other paperwork about her 2016 pool cleaner. There were four Polaris reps and over 200 customers that day. Without any paperwork, It's hard to resolve."
"MR. [Member Name Removed] TRIED TO SCAM MARTIN POOLS AND GOT CAUGHT. Before we dug his pool Mr. [Member Name Removed] asked if an irrigation company could install an irrigation line between his house and pool. He was told that we didn't see a problem with that. Fast forward to the end of pool construction. We were ready to final his pool so we scheduled a time to instruct him on the pool operation, give him his warranty papers and collect a final payment. He asked about his irrigation line and we told him to check with his irrigation company to find out where they ran it. We checked with our people to see if they remembered seeing one and no one had. We closed and received final payment. He called the next day and said, "we needed to fix his irrigation line because we were the ones that ripped it out." We told him we didn't warranty other peoples work and we didn't install it and he needed to contact his irrigation company. His reply was "you will be calling me." Four days later we received notice that his check had bounced. We called and he said "he would make it good once we fixed his irrigation line." Later that day I found out from the bank that it was a FRAUDULANT CHECK ON AN ACCOUNT THAT DIDN'T EXIST! I informed him by email that we were done until he made good, and furthermore it was a FELONY AND I WOULD PURSUE. Five days later he made good on the check. At that point I wanted to try to salvage a customer and see what I could do to help him with his missing line. I scheduled a meeting and during that meeting at his house he said, "it was my people that ripped the line out." I inquired how he knew that and he could not answer. Not knowing for sure it was possible that we had something to do with it so I told him "if he paid $100 for materials I would provide the labor" which he agreed to. I also wanted to talk to his man that did the install so I wouldn't be guessing where to start digging. When I said that... HE WENT OFF! He said," there was NO WAY I needed THAT info and if I didn't fix it he was going to take me to court and TRASH ME ON THE INTERNET." To this day he refuses to give me the irrigation company's name. I told him "without it I was done." His pool was completed per our contract and for warranty call us at our company's number. I'm just guessing that the irrigation company got paid the same way we did. Instead of taking HIM to court they just repossessed their piping. Mr. [Member Name Removed] realized that at the end and tried to blame Martin Pools. As for heading to court that's just more of his nonsense. Mr. [Member Name Removed] has a beautiful well built swimming pool. Martin Pools"
