DO NOT USE!! The owner of Aqua Blue Pools, Rick McDermott, is a disguising excuse for a human being. He purposely and intentionally steals your money without doing work. He is a complete scam artist and knowingly performs 20% of the work and then disappears with your money. His contract is written to scam you. He uses your hard earned money to go on elaborate vacations with his friends. He is a complete con man so don’t be fooled by his outgoing, friendly personality. Every word out of his mouth is a lie. RUN from this man and warn anyone of him.

Disaster,paid in full to do indoor swimming pool ,to date the project not finished ,he is plaming every body but not him self for not finishing the project ,he ran out of lies . It is a nightmare to deal with such a lier .

BEWARE! I’d give zero stars if I could. Absolutely the worst experience you can imagine. Rick promised a pool in 4 months, it took a year. He has no idea how to communicate or manage a project. Only thing he’s good at is taking your money, making excuses, & blaming others for delays. We recently found out that Rick started another pool company called Distinctive Pools of Atlanta and Aqua Blue Pools is bankrupt.

First of all, not even a legit company. Has been dissolved since 2016. Took over 1 year after missed 4 deadlines ONLY to finish 90% of the project. Only showed up to our project maybe 3 times. Poorly managed subcontractors. Had a swim-up table that he failed to install before pebble which is now a huge deal and will cost me much more to fix. Bottom line, he really shouldn’t be in the pool business. Lack of quality subs, mismanaged money, lack of integrity. Attractive price, but you pay for what you get.

DO NOT HiRE THIS COMPANY!!!! I don’t know how Rick had been in business for this long with his horrible customer service and constant lies. He is unprofessional and unreliable. It looked promising back in December when the hole was dug, then the concrete was sprayed in January, then the interior top tiles in February, then the pool just sat untouched for 3 months, then they did the stone around the very edge of the pool then waited another two months for then to grade the dirt. Still waiting for the rest of the pool and keep getting told next week, every week. His excuses have been materials and labor, well if the job was contracted back in December and majority of the money was given to him then why weren’t materials ordered that long ago. So if you go with Rick, expect him to take 95% of your money and over 8 months to finish it .

After having received multiple quotes from pool builders, and having had to chase many of them down to follow up on quotes my wife and I signed with Aqua Blue. Rick's responsiveness and level of service has been outstanding. He calls when he says that he will, and his crew shows up when scheduled. Rick keep us informed of the progress at every step. I know that all sounds like a "no-brainier" but that level of timeliness and communication hasn't always been my experience with contractors. Rick worked with us to insure that we'd stay within budget for the project while still getting the best pool for our money. We have ended up with a much nicer pool than we ever expected after our earlier estimates from other pool builders. Additional the crew at Aqua Blue have been respectful of our property and neighborhood; an appreciated trait considering we live in a small neighborhood. Overall the installation has been relatively stress and problem free. Rick and the guys at Aqua Blue Pools of Atlanta have been great!
We can't wait for Summer time!
